Moscow, Russia (My Sportsbook) - After much speculation, the Russian national team officially introduced Guus Hiddink as its new head coach on Friday. The 59-year-old Dutchman signed a two-year contract on Friday before returning to Holland. "Me alone is not a guarantee of success," said Hiddink. "I don't think about my reputation at all. "I'm here to help the Russian football team regain its former success." Hiddink won't take on the position until July 9, because he is already under contract to lead Australia in this summer's World Cup. Russia failed to qualify for the trip to Germany after a disappointing qualifying stage. Hiddink will be taking over for Yuri Semin, who was let go after failing to get Russia out of Group 3 in qualifying play. "I can see the potential of the team," said Hiddink. "I can see that there are a lot of good players. They are keen to secure good results. My task is to help them do that." Hiddink currently coaches PSV, but will walk away from the Eredivisie champions at the end of the season.
