Kansas City, MO (My Sportsbook) - Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Trent Green sat out practice Wednesday because of a sore left ankle and is questionable for Sunday's game against Denver. Green was hurt late in the first half of last week's game against San Diego, but had the ankle taped at halftime and did not miss a snap. He completed 17- of-29 passes for 236 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions in the 35-34 loss. Chiefs head coach Dick Vermeil said Green's ankle is sore and receiving treatment. "Trent did not practice today and I don't know if he will tomorrow," said Vermeil. "It's responding but it's pretty darn sore. What you've got to be careful of with those kinds of things is making it chronic and then he goes through the rest of the season with a bad ankle. We can't afford to do that, so we'll play it by ear. But right now, he's questionable." Green has completed 64.1 percent of his passes for 1,484 yards with 15 touchdowns and eight interceptions for the high-powered Kansas City offense. Todd Collins took the reps in practice on Wednesday and would likely start if Green is unable to practice the rest of the week. "Right now, if he did not practice at all I'd probably start Todd Collins," Vermeil said. "That would be my first plan. That doesn't mean I would do it come Friday. I have to see." Collins is in his fifth year with the Chiefs and eighth in the NFL. He has appeared in only one regular-season game in the past two seasons.
