Hampton, GA (My Sportsbook) - Todd Bodine captured the pole for tonight's John Deere 200 Craftsman Truck Series race at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. The No.30 Germain Toyota circled the 1.54-mile speedway in 30.569 seconds (181.360 m.p.h.). The pole victory was the first of Bodine's truck career. Bodine has finished second in both races this season. "To get a pole for us is phenomenal," said Bodine. "We usually set up for long run. We don't even do qualifying runs in practice." Starting on the front row with the Chemung, NY native will be Mike Skinner who posted a seconds-best time of 30.601 seconds. Erik Darnell (30.605) and Dennis Setzer (30.637) will start on row two. Series points leader Mark Martin has won the first two races of 2006 in dominating fashion, leading a total of 105 out of 208 laps. The Nextel Cup veteran will start 10th on the grid. In other news, Bobby Hamilton will race tonight but start treatment for cancer beginning on Monday. His son, Bobby Hamilton Jr. will take over the driving duties of the No.18 Fastenal Dodge beginning at Martinsville. The race is set to begin at 9:15 p.m. (et).
