East Rutherford, NJ (My Sportsbook) - Award winning mare Loyal Opposition tops a field of nine standardbreds in Friday's $50,000 Overbid Pace at the Meadowlands. Loyal Opposition will start from post six with Andy Miller driving. The three time Dan Patch Award winner is coming off a second place finish to Restive Hanover in the Cape & Cutter Final. She opened 2006 with a win in the $35,000 second round of the Cape & Cutter Series. Loyal Opposition has won 45 of 75 career starts for more than $2.5 million. She was voted champion older pacing mare for both 2004 and 2005. Loyal Opposition was also the champion two-year-old pacing filly in 2002. Restive Hanover will start from post eight with Eric Ledford driving. Another former champion two-year-old filly, Restive Hanover is owned by Starmaker Farm and has earned better than $900,000. This year she has won five of seven starts for $137,500. The third place finisher in the Cape & Cutter Final, Burning Point, will start from the outside post. Brian Sears will once again be in the sulky. Burning Point has finished third in all four starts this year for $24,600.
