Chicago, IL (My Sportsbook) - Chicago White Sox designated hitter/first baseman Frank Thomas has been informed by the club that his contract for the 2003 season will be significantly reduced. According to published reports, the club invoked a contract clause citing "diminished skills" as the basis of the move. The club has not denied or confirmed the move. "Frank expressed a desire to keep his contract situation private, so, unless we hear a public comment from Frank, we will not discuss the matter publicly," said Scott Reifert, the Sox director of public relations.
