East Rutherford, NJ (My Sportsbook) - The New York Giants placed Keith Hamilton on injured reserve after the defensive tackle tore his right Achilles' tendon in the first quarter of Sunday's 17-10 loss against the Atlanta Falcons. Hamilton is expected to have surgery later this week and faces a six-month rehabilitation. He suffered the injury in the opening period on a 14-yard pass to Warrick Dunn. It was the first major injury of Hamilton's career. The 31-year-old Hamilton has played all of his 11 NFL seasons with the Giants. In his career, the Pittsburgh product has recorded 62.5 sacks and 457 tackles. The Giants also signed defensive end Byron Frisch, who spent most of last season with the Dallas Cowboys. The 6-5, 267-pounder was Tennessee's third round draft pick in the 2000 draft. Defensive end and single-season sack record holder Michael Strahan walked off the field with back spasms in Sunday's loss. However, Strahan returned in the third quarter. Defensive end Kenny Holmes missed the game with an elbow injury.
