New York, NY (My Sportsbook) - Philadelphia 76ers forward Derrick Coleman was suspended for one game without pay by the NBA for pleading no contest to driving while under the influence of intoxicating liquor. Coleman was stopped for speeding on July 27 in Farmington Hills and taken into custody after refusing a breathalyzer test. Later tests showed that he had a blood alcohol level of 0.13 percent. The legal limit in Michigan is 0.10. As a result of his injury status (ailing left knee), Coleman will be suspended for the first game of the 2002-03 regular season that he is medically cleared to play in. Last season, Coleman averaged 15.1 points and 8.8 rebounds in 58 regular-season contests for the Sixers.
