New York, NY (My Sportsbook) - Cleveland Cavaliers center Zydrunas Ilgauskas was suspended for one game without pay by the NBA following his arrest last month for drunken driving. Ilgauskas will miss the regular- season opener on October 29 in Sacramento. Last week, Ilgauskas pleaded no contest to driving under the influence and was sentenced to a year of probation. The judge suspended a 30-day jail sentence, fined Ilgauskas $1,000 and suspended his driver's license for a year. However, Ilgauskas is permitted to drive to work, counseling sessions and the grocery store. Ilgauskas was stopped on September 15 in Bay Village, Ohio for erratic driving and failed sobriety tests. A breathalyzer test revealed that he had a blood-alcohol level above Ohio's legal limit of 0.10. Cleveland head coach John Lucas said that Ilgauskas will undergo drug and alcohol counseling through the team. The 7-foot-3 center, who has battled foot problems throughout his NBA career, averaged 11.1 points and 5.4 rebounds in 62 games for Cleveland last season. Meanwhile, Lucas will also miss the game against the Kings. This past May, the league suspended Lucas for two games for including LeBron James, the nation's top high school player, in a voluntary workout at Gund Arena.
