East Rutherford, NJ (My Sportsbook) - On harness racing's biggest night of the year, a pair of drivers each recorded three victories Saturday in the Breeders Crown at the Meadowlands. Ron Pierce and Brian Sears captured a total of six races in the eight-race program. Pierce started off hot, picking up wins in the first two events. He guided Passionate Glide to victory in the $516,800 two-year-old filly trot. Pierce immediately followed with a win behind My Little Dragon in the $500,000 two-year-old filly pace. Pierce completed his special night by driving home Belovedangel in the $500,000 three-year-old filly pace. Sears recorded his first win of the evening in the $610,000 three-year-old colt trot with Strong Yankee. The colt made it two straight wins over Hambletonian winner Vivid Photo, who finished second. Strong Yankee previously captured the other two races of trotting's Triple Crown, the Yonkers Trot and the Kentucky Futurity. Sears came right back in the $500,000 three-year-old filly trot by driving Blur to victory. He then concluded the night with a win in the $555,000 three- year-old colt pace behind Rocknroll Hanover. The colt is this year's leading money earner and now goes past the $2 million mark for 2005. The remaining Breeders Crown winners Saturday were Chocolatier in the $507,600 two-year-old trot and Jereme's Jet in the $575,400 two-year-old colt pace. The Breeders Crown is harness racing's version of the Breeders' Cup.
