St. Louis, MO (My Sportsbook) - Aaron Johnson broke a third period tie with his first goal of the season to give the Columbus Blue Jackets a 4-3 victory over the St. Louis Blues at the Savvis Center.

Manny Malhotra had a goal and two assists and Luke Richardson and Gilbert Brule scored goals for the Blue Jackets, who stopped a seven-game losing streak.

Martin Prusek made 31 saves in the victory.

Barret Jackman had two goals and Mike Sillinger scored the other goal for the Blues, who have lost their last three games. Curtis Sanford made 15 saves in the defeat.

The Blues took a 3-2 lead into the third period on Jackman's second goal of the game with 20.7 seconds left in the second session. However, the Blue Jackets would score twice in the third period to win the game.

The tying goal came on a delayed penalty call against the Blues. Malhotra was hooked as he was charging into the St. Louis zone and his shot attempt went wide. Jackman crashed into his own goaltender and Brule picked up Malhotra's errant shot on the left side of the net. Brule's shot bounced off of Jackman and went in just 28 seconds into the period.

Columbus then took the lead on a power-play goal by Johnson. Sergei Fedorov made a pass from the left point to Jody Shelley down low on the left side. He immediately sent a centering pass to Johnson, who got it into the net on the one-timer with 10:04 left in the game.

The Blue Jackets drew first blood on the night with a goal by Malhotra just 37 seconds into the game. David Vyborny brought the puck into the zone and got it to Malhotra in the slot. His one-timer beat Sanford for his second goal of the season.

However, the Blues would take a 2-1 lead into the second session.

Jackman got his first goal of the season at the 7:16 mark. Dallas Drake made a pass from the left boards to Jackman at the left point. His slap shot went through a screen and into the net.

Columbus' Duvie Westcott was called for hooking and St. Louis got a goal on the ensuing power-play opportunity. Petr Cajanek had the puck deep along the right boards and got the puck to Sillinger at the right circle. Sillinger's one-timer went into the right corner of the net with 5:26 remaining in the opening session.

The Blue Jackets would tie the game in the second period on a goal by Richardson. On a delayed St. Louis penalty, Shelley got the puck deep along the left boards to Malhotra, who in turn threw a centering pass to Richardson for a successful one-timer with 6:08 left in the period.

However, St. Louis would get the lead back on a goal with 20.7 seconds left in the second. Doug Weight won a faceoff from the left circle and the puck went to Keith Tkachuk on the left wing. Tkachuk sent the puck to Jackman at the left point and his wrist shot went through a screen for his second goal of the night to make it a 3-2 game.

Game Notes

The Blues are off until Thursday when they will host the Blue Jackets...Columbus will travel to Minnesota for a game on Wednesday...St. Louis went 1-for-5 on the power play...Columbus was 1-for-3 with the man advantage.
