Philadelphia, PA (My Sportsbook) - Philadelphia Phillies righthander Vicente Padilla suffered from tightness in the back of his right shoulder and left after throwing just 11 pitches in his start against the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday. However, four relievers held the Braves to just two runs, and the Phillies held on for a 5-3 victory. Padilla, who came into the game with a 14-11 record and a 3.24 ERA, had lost his last three starts and seemed to have less velocity on his pitches than usual. Six of Padilla's 11 pitches were change-ups, and Rafael Furcal blasted a home run to right field to give the Braves a 1-0 lead on the second pitch of the game. Matt Franco followed with a single and Gary Sheffield then lined out, but Padilla made his teammates aware of the injury and left the game at that point in favor of rookie righthander Eric Junge. Junge held the Braves to one run in 4 2/3 innings to earn his second career victory.
