Martinsville, VA (My Sportsbook) - Rick Crawford earned the top spot for Saturday afternoon's Kroger 200 Craftsman Truck Series race at the Martinsville Speedway. The No.14 Ford driver circled the 0.526-mile short track in a track record 19.732 seconds (95.966 m.p.h.). The previous mark was 19.912 seconds set in April 2005 by Bobby Hamilton. The pole victory was Crawford's first of the season and fourth of his truck career. Starting on the front row with Crawford will be Kyle Busch who posted a time of 19.800 seconds. Tim Fedewa (19.813) and Brandon Whitt (19.822) make up row two. As of this moment, the series title is up for grabs with Dennis Setzer (starting fifth) leading Ted Musgrave (starting seventh) by a scant five points (2,877-2,872). The championship is the closest since 1998 when Jack Sprague lead eventual winner Ron Hornaday Jr. by the same margin. Setzer and Musgrave are veterans of a title chase having finished second and third in last year's championship. In fact, Musgrave has finished third in the series in each of the last three seasons. NASCAR Hall of Fame driver Darrell Waltrip qualified 30th quickest in what is reported to be the last race of his legendary career. The race is set to begin on Saturday at 1:15 p.m. (edt).
