Atlanta, GA (My Sportsbook) - The Atlanta Thrashers announced on Thursday that they will not designate one player as team captain. Instead, the Thrashers have decided to rotate the captaincy between Vyacheslav Kozlov, Uwe Krupp, Shawn McEachern and Jeff Odgers. "We're very fortunate to have our team captaincy represented by four veteran players who are proven winners and character people," said general manager Don Waddell. "They provide us with quality leadership and a winning attitude that will be highly beneficial on the ice and in the locker room." The 30-year-old Kozlov won back-to-back Stanley Cup Championships in 1997 and 1998 as a member of the Detroit Red Wings. Despite being limited to 38 games due to an Achilles injury last season, Kozlov posted nine goals and 13 assists with Buffalo. Krupp has played for two Stanley Cup Championship teams with Colorado (1995-96) and Detroit (2001-2002) during his 15-year NHL career. Krupp has tallied 69 goals and 212 assists in 725 games with Buffalo, the New York Islanders, Quebec/Colorado and Detroit. McEachern posted 15 goals and 31 assists in 80 games for Ottawa last season and won a Stanley Cup with Pittsburgh during his rookie season in 1991-92. Odgers, 33, led the Thrashers with 135 penalty minutes last season, despite missing 36 games due to injury. The 6-0, 205-pound right wing, finished with four goals and four assists in 46 games. His leadership on and off the ice earned him the Thrashers' Players' Player and Gilner-Reeves Community Service awards for 2001-02.
