Montreal, CA (My Sportsbook) - Defending series champion Sebastien Bourdais captured the provisional pole for Sunday's Molson Indy Montreal Champ Car race. The No.1 Newman Haas Racing driver circled the 2.709-mile Circuit Gilles Villeneuve road course in one minute, 21.924 seconds (119.042 m.p.h.). Bourdais earned one championship point for the provisional pole and a guaranteed front row starting position for the race. The provisional win gives the Frenchman a 250-196 point lead over second place Paul Tracy. Teammate Oriol Servia was second quickest with a lap of 1:22.010 seconds. Tracy (1:22.400), Mario Dominguez (1:22.400) and Cristiano da Matta (1:22.407) completed the top-five. The second qualifying session is set for 2 p.m. (edt) on Saturday with the race scheduled for Sunday afternoon at 1:45 p.m.
