Denver, CO (My Sportsbook) - Once again Sebastien Bourdais found himself in position to take advantage of a driver's error and it paid off with a win in Sunday's Centrix Financial Grand Prix of Denver. The No.1 Newman Haas driver crossed the finish line 15.269 seconds ahead of Mario Dominguez. The victory was Bourdais' fourth of the season and 14th of his Champ Car career. Paul Tracy was the fastest car on the track all weekend, winning both qualifying sessions to start on the pole. The No.3 Forsythe Championship Racing driver led almost every early lap as he was dominating the race. By lap 54, Tracy held a 12-second lead on Bourdais and 16 seconds on Dominguez. All other drivers were more than 30 seconds back. But on lap 63, Tracy clipped the wall in turn four and he went barreling into a tire barrier. "I was pressing hard and brushed the inside wall, just barely touched it and it threw me across the track," said Tracy. "I basically just handed the championship to Sebastien, so its devastating for the whole team." Bourdais inherited the top spot and never gave it up. The Frenchman earned his third consecutive win and a commanding 53-point margin in the championship. It was the second race this season in which Bourdais was not the fastest car, but won because of another driver's mistake. In Edmonton, A.J. Allmendinger spun out with eight laps to go while leading the race when his car got stuck in gear. Allmendinger, Oriol Servia and Rodolfo Lavin completed the top-five. The next race in the series is set for Sunday, August 28th in Montreal, Canada.
