Denver, CO (My Sportsbook) - Paul Tracy not only was fastest in the first qualifying session, but was the fastest ever around the 1.657-mile street course. The No.3 Forsythe Championship Racing driver set a track record of 59.759 seconds (99.821 m.p.h.) barely beating Sebastien Bourdais' 2004 mark of 59.943 seconds. Tracy earned one championship point for the provisional pole and a guaranteed front row starting position for Sunday's Centrix Financial Grand Prix of Denver. He now trails series points leader Bourdais by 26 points (215-189). Mario Dominguez (1:00.213), Bourdais (1:00.347), A.J. Allmendinger (1:00.612) and Justin Wilson (1:00.697) completed the top-five. The session ended a little over one minute ahead of schedule when Marcus Marshall crashed in turn five. The second qualifying session is set for Saturday at 4 p.m. (edt) with the race scheduled for Sunday at 3:45 p.m.
