ASHBURN, Va. (AP) -Washington Redskins right tackle Jon Jansen, who has a torn calf muscle and broken thumb, will miss Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints. Jansen did not practice this week. He was downgraded from questionable to doubtful on the injury report Friday, and on Saturday the Redskins said he would not play against the Saints. He will be replaced by Todd Wade, a seven-year veteran with 85 career starts. Wade will be making his first start of the season. Jansen has been playing with the |

ASHBURN, Va. (AP) -Washington Redskins right tackle Jon Jansen missed practice again Friday and was downgraded to doubtful for Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints. Jansen has been playing with a torn calf muscle for several weeks. If he can't play Sunday, veteran Todd Wade will make his first start of the season. ``For Todd, there are different times you get opportunities to make a statement,'' coach Joe Gibbs said. ``Todd has started 85 games in the NFL, so you'd think we'd be in good shape there. |

On Sunday, in a rebuilt and sold-out Superdome, the Saints (9-4) can clinch the NFC South with a victory over the Washington Redskins (4-9). Doing so would add an NFL playoff game to a string of disaster recovery highlights here that have included the return of Mardi Gras parades; the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival; a Saints victory on ``Monday Night Football'' when the do |

ASHBURN, Va. (AP) -When Carlos Rogers dropped a potential interception on the first play of the game Sunday, he was doing his part to keep the 2006 Washington Redskins on pace for a dubious NFL record. Unless they can pry the ball from opposing teams with much greater efficiency over the final three games, the Redskins will set the league record for fewest turnovers forced in a 16-game season. They're also on pace to obliterate franchise records for fewest sacks and interceptions. ``It's very frustrating,'' |

ASHBURN, Va. (AP) -Joe Gibbs isn't shy about taking the blame when the Washington Redskins struggle. ``It starts and ends with me'' has been his standard reply following each of this season's nine losses. Maybe it's time to start taking the Hall of Fame coach at his word. Many of the reasons the Redskins have faltered this season - untimely penalties, poor clock management, embarrassing drives, overconfidence entering training camp, head-scratching trades, questionable free agent signings and a bloated coac |
