| Washington, DC (MySportsbook) - The Washington Nationals and reliever Joey Eischen avoided arbitration by agreeing to a $1.04 million contract. The 34-year-old, who took a 20 percent cut in pay, missed four months last season with an elbow injury. The lefthander returned to the mound in August and went 0-1 with a 3.93 ERA in 21 games. Calloway, 28, batted .167 with one homer and 10 RBI in 46 games as a member of the Montreal Expos last season.
