| (MySportsbook) - It's been a while since he's been an elite player in either his conference or his league. But don't be surprised if Tennessee Titans quarterback Kerry Collins gets a hero's welcome should he take the field on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The former Penn State star, who led Carolina to an NFC title game in the mid-1990's and the New York Giants to a Super Bowl a half-decade later, likely looks like a cross between Tom Brady and Peyton Manning to a rapidly-deflating Titans fan base |

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -Neither Tennessee Titans coach Jeff Fisher nor Kerry Collins will say the quarterback is starting Sunday against Jacksonville. On Friday, however, all signs pointed that way. Collins took the full complement of first-team practice reps again on Friday and is listed as probable on the Titans injury report with a calf injury. Rookie quarterback Rusty Miller made his first NFL start last week for Tennessee with Vince Young on injured reserve and Collins hurt. Fisher says the Titans |

ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) -The Detroit Lions have put kicker Jason Hanson on injured reserve, ending his season with an injured right knee. Detroit signed cornerback Tye Hill on Thursday to take Hanson's spot on the roster. Hill was among the Tennessee Titans' final cuts this year. He started 24 games over four seasons for St. Louis and Atlanta. The Lions drafted Hanson in 1992 and he has become their all-time leading scorer with 1,890 career points. Hanson has made an NFL-record 44 field goals from at leas |

The Texans had just about fallen out of contention in the division race after losing four straight games to begin November, but bounced back with a highly- charged effort to take down the spiraling Tennessee Titans last Sunday at Reliant Stadium. The resounding 20-0 victory, coupled with Week 12 defeats by AFC South front-runners Jacksonville and Indianapolis, moved Houston within a single game of the Jaguars and Colts for the top spot. He works hard for charity, having pushed a high school cancer patient's wheelchair five miles during a Thanksgiving road race before heading to practice. On the field, the Tennessee Titans cornerback now has a slightly different reputation, thanks to his battle royale with Houston receiver Andre Johnson. Finnegan said Wednesday he's appalled at how he's been perceived since Sunday's brawl that brought each $25,000 fines apiece. `` |

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -Authorities says there is not enough evidence to charge Tennessee Titans receiver Kenny Britt in a bar fight. Instead, a grand jury has indicted another man, 29-year-old Bradford Miser, on assault charges for the Oct. 22 brawl in which no one was seriously hurt. A customer at the bar told investigators that Britt was among those who assaulted him. Britt denied hitting anyone, though Coach Jeff Fisher benched the receiver for a quarter because of the reports. Johnson figured to draw at least a fine for brawling with Tennessee Titans defensive back Cortland Finnegan during the fourth quarter of Houston's 20-0 victory, but the fact that he landed a few punches to the head/neck area of a helmetless Finnegan also led some to think he might have been issued a suspension as well. HOUSTON (AP) -Receiver Kenny Britt, defensive end Dave Ball and defensive tackle Jason Jones were among the inactive players for the Tennessee Titans for Sunday's game in Houston. Britt, who leads the Titans with seven touchdown catches, has missed the last three games with a right hamstring injury. Ball (concussion) and Jones (knee) missed practice this week after they were hurt in last week's loss to Washington. Ball has seven sacks this season, and Jones leads the Titans with eight tackles for loss.
