Titans sit TE Scaife, DB Fuller vs Texans NFL Football 12/19/2010

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The Tennessee Titans have deactivated tight end Bo Scaife and defensive back Vincent Fuller against the Houston Texans.

Neither Scaife nor Fuller had been on the injury report for the Titans going into Sunday's game with Houston. Craig Stevens is starting for Scaife. The Titans also deactivated defensive tackle Sen'Derrick Marks with Marques Douglas starting in his place and end Jacob Ford is starting for Dave Ball, who was placed on injured reserve Friday.

II. Leonard-Duran II. Holyfield-Tyson II. And this weekend...Johnson-Finnegan II. Or maybe not. The AFC South's premier sluggers could square off for a second time in 2010 this Sunday in Nashville, when Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson and Tennessee Titans cornerback Cortland Finnegan get back together for the first time since being engaged in a one-sided throw-down in a Nov. 28 game at Reliant Stadium. Reacting to game-long aggressive play and chatter from his abrasive foe, Johnson yanked off Finnega

ams this year, prevailing in six of seven games held in enemy venues, but it's been a much different story in their own building. Miami is just 1-5 at Sun Life Stadium so far in 2010, with the lone victory a 29-17 decision over the downward-trending Tennessee Titans in Week 10. That inability to hold serve may have cost the Dolphins a chance at the postseason. Already eliminated from contention for an AFC East title, Miami enters the regular-season's final three weeks two games behind both Baltimore and the New
Titans end DT Tony Brown's season, place him on IR Headlines 12/15/2010

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The Tennessee Titans have placed defensive tackle Tony Brown on injured reserve because of a knee injury.

Brown had surgery in the offseason on his right knee as he rehabilitated and missed most of the preseason. The past few weeks, he has been playing despite not being able to practice. He started 11 games but was inactive for two with 3 1/2 sacks and 10 quaraterback pressures.

The Titans (5-8) ended Brown's season Wednesday.

games against Denver (at home), Indianapolis (home) and Kansas City (away), but also rely on the Chiefs to lose at least one of their other two prior to the regular-season finale. Kansas City will visit the St. Louis (formerly Los Angeles) Rams and Tennessee Titans before hosting the Raiders. Oh, and second-place San Diego -- which defeated Kansas City, 31-0, on Sunday -- must also lose one of its remaining three beginning this Thursday against San Francisco. well over the Indianapolis Colts' three-game losing streak. The cerebral quarterback threw 11 interceptions over that slide and four of them were returned for touchdowns. The four-time MVP rebounded last Thursday with a mistake-free game against the Tennessee Titans, helping his club to a 30-28 victory to set up a big showdown this weekend against the Jacksonville Jaguars. "I don't want to offend anybody, but I don't read your column or anybody. I really don't," said Manning afterwards. "I think people like del
Titans place Amano on IR NFL Football 12/14/2010
Nashville, TN (MySportsbook) - The Tennessee Titans have placed center Eugene Amano on injured reserve because of a neck problem. Amano had started all 13 games for the Titans this season. He moved to center this year after starting 31 games at left guard for the club over the previous two years. The Titans filled the roster spot by signing defensive tackle Malcolm Sheppard off the practice squad of the Houston Texans.
Titans place starting C Amano on injured reserve Headlines 12/14/2010

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The Tennessee Titans have placed starting center Eugene Amano on injured reserve because of a neck injury.

The Titans made the move Tuesday when players returned from a weekend off. Amano moved from left guard to center this season, and he had started all 13 games for an offense ranked 28th in total yards and 14th in rushing offense.

The move likely means Fernando Velasco will replace Amano the rest of the season. Velasco started at Dallas at left guard but moved over to center in

of four straight games against Southeastern Conference opponents in which he ran for more than 170 yards.

He's as big as most linebackers so he's able to run over and through tacklers. He's also nimble and fast enough to run away from defenders.

Tennessee Titans quarterback Vince Young, who was drafted with the third overall pick in 2006, might be a good comparison, but Newton outweighs him by about 20 pounds and is an inch taller. Young seems to be faster, but the scouts with the stop watches will ultimate

Titans get weekend off after 6th straight loss NFL Football 12/10/2010

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - At least the Tennessee Titans get a long weekend to rest and forget about football before trying to end their six-game losing streak.

The questions about coach Jeff Fisher's job security, how he's dealing with Vince Young and his decisions during games keep getting louder.

The Titans have matched the six-game skid to open the 2009 season, and this latest slide has been a free fall to the bottom of the AFC South - after Tennessee led the division at 5-2. Their best hope now is matc
