Titans keep Jeff Fisher for 17th season NFL Football 01/07/2011

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee Titans owner Bud Adams has decided to keep Jeff Fisher for the 2011 season.

In a statement released by the team, the 88-year-old owner says Fisher has meant a great deal to the team and helped the Titans reach ``incredible heights'' under his leadership.

The decision comes two days after Adams agreed the Titans needed to part with Vince Young five seasons after he ordered the quarterback drafted.

Fisher is the NFL's longest-tenured coach, and Adams' decision means Fish

NEW YORK (AP) - Two people with knowledge of the decision say the NFL has fined Indianapolis Colts linebacker Gary Brackett $35,000 for his hit on Tennessee Titans long snapper Ken Amato in last Sunday's game.

The two people say Brackett was notified of the league's decision Friday. Both requested anonymity because the league has not announced the fine.

Colts kicker Vinatieri still clutch in 15th season NFL Football 01/06/2011

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Adam Vinatieri is still clutch - and still almost automatic.

The veteran Indianapolis Colts kicker made a 43-yard field goal as time expired this past Sunday in a 23-20 victory over the Tennessee Titans, his first game-winner in over two years.

The man who has two Super Bowl-winning kicks was happy to get reacquainted with a bit of pressure in time for Saturday night's playoff game against the New York Jets.

``It's been a little while since I've had the opportunity,'' he said. ``The

Nashville, TN (MySportsbook) - The Tennessee Titans have informed quarterback Vince Young that he will not be back with the team next season. In a statement released Wednesday evening, owner Bud Adams informed general manager Mike Reinfeldt "to move forward with plans to begin the process of identifying the next quarterback for our franchise. When the Colts hosted the Jacksonville Jaguars on Dec. 19, a game in which the Jags would have clinched the division with a victory, there were talks that quarterback Peyton Manning's best days were behind him. When Indianapolis knocked off the Tennessee Titans, 23-20, this past Sunday on Adam Vinatieri's last-second field goal, the Colts were AFC South champions yet again and had matched an NFL record for consecutive playoff appearances with nine, first set by the Cowboys from 1975-83. Titans owner needs time to decide on Fisher NFL Football 01/03/2011
Nashville, TN (MySportsbook) - Tennessee Titans owner Bud Adams said he needs time to evaluate the team and its coaching staff, including the status of head coach Jeff Fisher. In a release issued Monday, Adams said he will consider several things in his evaluation process, including the current NFL labor situation and Fisher's history with the team. The Titans are coming off their first losing season in five years, a 6-10 disaster that included losses in eight of their last nine games. Fisher is the longest-
