Recent playoff history, pedigree and their play of late simply suggests that the Wings and Avs both must be put right up there at the top until someone knocks them down when it counts. But the beauty of this year's NHL season is that there has not been one dominant club, as has been the case the past two years. Heck, the Minnesota Wild and Tampa Bay Lightning are even in the picture. If that's not parity, I don't know what is. |

The Bruins have fallen into a three-way tie with the New York Islanders and the Tampa Bay Lightning. A couple of more losses in a row and it could be an uphill climb down the stretch for Boston to make the postseason. "Of course we're concerned about it," O'Connell said. That is where Washington Capitals head man Bruce Cassidy joins the mix, as he was fuming following his team's 3-1 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday. The defeat isn't what is bothering Cassidy, but the fact that the men in the zebra shirts helped decide it with questionable calls is.
