Snelling hit .246 with one homer and seven RBIs in 30 games for the Washington Nationals and Oakland Athletics this year. Snelling, the 25-year-old Australian native, split the 2007 season with Washington and Oakland. (AP) -One season after being released by three teams, Carlos Pena put together the best performance in Tampa Bay Devil Rays history and was chosen Tuesday as Major League Baseball's AL comeback player of the year.
