| Philadelphia, PA (MySportsbook) - The days of "The Greatest Show on Turf" may be long gone, but the same may soon be said about one of the darkest periods of the St. Louis Rams' history. The calendar is about to turn to December and the Rams -- that's right, the St. Louis Rams -- stand in first place in their division. And while the disheveled state of the NFC West may have as much to do with that status as any factor, a few other indicators are emerging that these longstanding doormats really are a team o |

DENVER (AP) -The top two quarterbacks selected in the draft seven months ago will meet up on the same football field Sunday. While top overall pick Sam Bradford leads the St. Louis Rams (4-6) into Invesco Field, Tim Tebow will serve once again as the backup to prolific passer Kyle Orton, even with the Denver Broncos idling at 3-7. Broncos coach Josh McDaniels doesn't want to consider what many fans are clamoring for: rushing Tebow's NFL education now that Denver's season is all but lost. Even though |

ST. LOUIS (AP) -St. Louis Rams defensive end Chris Long knows the importance of pressuring the quarterback. ``As our defensive line goes, so goes the team,'' he said. He wants to make sure the line is at its best Sunday when the Rams (4-6) play the Denver Broncos (3-7). The St. Louis defense was held without a sack for the first time this season in a 34-17 loss to Atlanta last Sunday. That didn't set well with Long and his teammates, who entered the game with a league-leading 28 sacks. ``The number |

| (MySportsbook) - Some games get Joe Buck and Troy Aikman. Others get Ron Pitts and John Lynch. And so it goes this weekend for the St. Louis Rams and Denver Broncos, each of whom come into Sunday's matchup from Invesco Field at Mile High a week after taking double-digit losses in games where they were attempting to make a leap towards legitimacy against elite-level foes in their respective conferences. The Rams were beaten, 34-17, by current NFC front-runner Atlanta in their last outing, though they did ha |

ST. LOUIS (AP) -Sam Bradford is looking pretty scruffy these days. A few more days and he can shave. Several St. Louis Rams players have grown beards this month, a no-shave November during prostate cancer awareness month, including safety O.J. Atogwe, cornerback Ron Bartell and linebacker/organizer David Vobora. Punter Donnie Jones has a Fu Manchu look and kicker Josh Brown looks a bit like an Amish farmer with a head shaved and facial hair stopping where sideburns would end. Bradford just has a lot |

ST. LOUIS (AP) -St. Louis Rams wide receiver Danario Alexander may return against Denver this weekend after missing a month following arthroscopic knee surgery. Alexander had four catches for 72 yards and a 38-yard touchdown against the Chargers in Week 6, his only extensive action. He was injured in practice in late October and underwent a fifth procedure on his left knee to remove torn cartilage. Alexander said Wednesday he probably would have had to have surgery after the season in any case. Offen |

ST. LOUIS (AP) -Steven Jackson expects to breathe easy this weekend in Denver. All season, the St. Louis Rams' running back has been using methods one might use before mountain climbing, so he's ready for the Mile High city. A clear plastic tent surrounds a guest bedroom in the basement of Jackson's home, limiting the amount of oxygen to simulate high altitude. Discounting any benefits of the altitude tent, Jackson is feeling a lot more refreshed than usual. He didn't get his usual heavy workload in |

He's made plenty of big plays for the first-place Falcons (8-2), such as knocking down a season-high three passes in last week's 34-17 victory over the St. Louis Rams. Not bad for a guy no one gave much a chance to ever make it to the NFL. ``Of course, I heard that I was from a small school, that I was too small to play in the pros,'' Grimes recalled. ``I could make plays, but they didn't really believe in me |

According to STATS LLC, he's only the second player to do it since 1950, joining Tony Horne of the St. Louis Rams in 1999. And then there's this: McCann has been chosen NFC player of the week after the second and third games of his career. He got the defensive version last week and Tuesday received the honor for special teams. ``It's definitely a cool feeli |
