ST. LOUIS (AP) -St. Louis Rams coach Scott Linehan stopped short of backing Marc Bulger on Monday, a day after the quarterback said some offensive players don't care. He said he didn't even address the issue at a team meeting. But he didn't mind the out-of-character rant from the soft-spoken Bulger after a 34-20 loss to the Cardinals, either. ``My reaction is it was a competitor venting a little bit about a loss,'' Linehan said. ``Sometimes you've just got to get something off your chest.'' ST. LOUIS (AP) -St. Louis Rams rookie tight end Dominique Byrd was charged Monday with allegedly hitting a bar patron in the face with a drinking glass. Byrd was charged with second- and third-degree assault and armed criminal action. His bond was set at $25,000, said chief warrant officer Jeannette Graviss with the St. Louis Circuit Attorney's office. Byrd's lawyer, Scott Rosenblum, said his client had posted bail and will plead not guilty. ``We're comfortable an investigation will reveal that the a |

PHILADELPHIA (AP) -Carolina Panthers running back DeShaun Foster was inactive Monday night against the Philadelphia Eagles because of a hyperextended left elbow. Foster was injured during Carolina's victory over the St. Louis Rams on Nov. 19 and sat out last week's loss at Washington. Rookie DeAngelo Williams took Foster's spot in the starting lineup. For the Eagles, cornerback William James (knee) and linebacker Shawn Barber (knee) were out. Copyright © 2005 The Associated Press. All rights r |

| (MySportsbook) - The St. Louis Rams are still alive in the playoff hunt, and will attempt to remain on the winning course Sunday when they host the NFC West-rival Arizona Cardinals at the Edward Jones Dome. The Rams ended a lengthy five-game losing streak with a 20-17 win over San Francisco last Sunday at Monster Park, keeping their slim postseason hopes alive thanks to Marc Bulger's five-yard TD pass to Kevin Curtis with 27 seconds remaining in the game. | (MySportsbook) - Carolina Panthers running back DeShaun Foster is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles because of a hyperextended left elbow. Foster was hurt in the second quarter of Carolina's 15-0 win over the St. Louis Rams on November 19. He was replaced by rookie DeAngelo Williams, who ran for 114 yards against the Rams, but only managed 63 yards in last week's 17-13 loss to the Washington Redskins. | (MySportsbook) - Weighed down by a five-game losing streak and shackled by an embarrassing recent history against a division foe, the St. Louis Rams unburdened themselves. At least for the time being. "I rate the team's effort as outstanding," Rams head coach Scott Linehan said after Sunday's 20-17 win over the 49ers. "As we discussed all week, this was a gut-check game, and we passed it in all phases." Led by running back Steven Jackson's 192 all-purpose yards, the Rams ended a three-game losing streak to |
