ST. LOUIS (AP) -Marc Bulger has thrown just three touchdown passes and has a passer rating of 68.2 for the scuffling St. Louis Rams. Don't expect coach Steve Spagnuolo to change quarterbacks. He has been generally pleased with the 32-year-old quarterback. Bulger hasn't had much help from his inexperienced crew of receivers. Laurent Robinson began the season as a favorite target but he's out for the rest of 2009 with an injury. Donnie Avery is now the go-to guy, but he's been hurt as well. Bulger says |

ST. LOUIS (AP) -Josh Brown's first NFL pass was not a thing of beauty but he doesn't care about style points. The St. Louis Rams' kicker was named the NFC's special teams player of the week Wednesday after a game that saw him kick a 41-yard field goal but also throw a 36-yard touchdown pass to tight end Daniel Fells. Well, throw might be overstating it a bit. It was more of a flip on a fake field goal attempt that helped the Rams end a 17-game losing streak with a 17-10 victory over Detroit. Brown, w |

| New York, NY (MySportsbook) - Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre, Carolina Panthers defensive end Julius Peppers and St. Louis Rams kicker Josh Brown have been named the NFC's top players for Week 8 of the NFL season. Favre, playing at Lambeau Field against the Packers for the first time, guided Minnesota to a 38-26 win over Green Bay to take the offensive honor. He completed 17-of-28 passes for 244 yards and four touchdowns, with no interceptions, for a 128.6 passer rating. It was his 21st career f |

Gorrer is a rookie who was on the practice squad for the New Orleans Saints, who signed him as an undrafted free agent May 4. He was a two-year starter at Texas A&M where he had 141 tackles, two sacks, one interception, 13 passes defended and two forced fumbles. In two games for St. Louis, Carter had one catch for six yards.Copyright © 2005 The Ass |

| "Whether it be us protecting the football or just making a play from time to time, it will come, as long as we maintain what we're doing and just continue to get the ball down there." LIONS: The best-case scenario heading into Sunday's date with the St. Louis Rams had Matthew Stafford picking up where he left off before he suffered a knee injury against the Bears back on Oct. 4th. In a surprise to absolutely no one who has followed their history, the Detroit Lions did not experience the best-case scenario. Wh |

ST. LOUIS (AP) -As Steven Jackson rambled into the end zone for the go-ahead touchdown with 1:38 to go, St. Louis Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo felt no sense of elation. Here's what was on the rookie head coach's mind: ``I hope we didn't score too soon.'' Can't blame the guy for being skittish, considering how long the Rams (1-7) waited between wins. The franchise dropped 17 in a row before Sunday's 17-10 victory over the one-win Lions, who are every bit as downtrodden. Spagnuolo didn't even relax much |
