| (MySportsbook) - Talk about your large obstacles. Standing squarely in the way of a final-week, winner-take-all, playoffs-or- bust matchup between Brett Favre and Chad Pennington is the rather sizeable carcass of Seattle Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren. Favre's sideline boss during his (apparently never eats a) salad days in Green Bay, the walrus-like Holmgren will make a final pre-sabbatical appearance in front of the Pacific Northwest faithful this Sunday afternoon, when the Seahawks host Favre and his New Yo |

| attle's front office - which includes minority owner Drew Carey - sees Schmid as the most important addition yet. "While all of those are powerful announcements, I think (Tuesday was) truly a defining moment in this franchise," said Tod Leiweke, the Seattle Seahawks CEO and manager for Paul Allen's minority ownership interest in Sounders FC. Schmid is the only coach to lead two different teams to MLS Cup titles, and the Sounders hired him with championships in mind. "We plan on being the third," Roth said. In 9 |

SEAHAWKS: NOT GIVING UP It would be easy for head coach Mike Holmgren to just give up on the 2008 season. After all, it is his last season as the Seattle Seahawks' head coach. It would also be easy for the team to follow that example. Fortunately, that just isn't Holmgren's or Seattle's style. Seattle had every reason to pack it in on Sunday versus the Rams. In a battle of 2-11 teams, the Seahawks posted just |

"I thought he was coming on and he was helping us some." The second-year player has six catches for 119 yards and one touchdown in 10 games this season. |

| (MySportsbook) - The Seattle Seahawks will try for a series sweep and eighth straight win over the St. Louis Rams this Sunday, when the two teams battle in Missouri at the Edward Jones Dome. Seattle, which hasn't lost to St. Louis since the 2004 season, extended its winning streak over its NFC West rival with a 37-13 home victory back in Week 3. The Seahawks used a solid running attack in that one, getting 140 yards and a score out of Julius Jones and two more rushing touchdowns by T.J. Duckett. That was Sea |
