Hensley, 29, posted a 1-2 record with a 5.31 earned run average in 32 games in 2008. In his four-year career, all with San Diego, Hensley is 15-18 with a 4.09 ERA and 206 strikeouts in 106 games, including 40 starts. Haeger, a 25-year-old knuckleballer, was claimed off waivers by the Padres on September 10 and posted a 16.62 ERA in four relief appearances in 2008 |

| San Diego, CA (MySportsbook) - It appears Trevor Hoffman, the all-time saves leader in baseball, won't be closing games for the San Diego Padres in 2009.
