PHILADELPHIA (AP) -The Philadelphia Eagles used to rely on complex blitz packages to pressure quarterbacks. Now they just turn their defensive linemen loose. With consistent pursuit from the speedy ends and a strong push up the middle from the tackles, the defense has generated a relentless rush in the first five games. The Eagles already have 23 sacks and are on pace to get 74, which would break the single-season record of 72 set by Chicago in 1984. Even more impressive is the fact that 21 of those 23 sack |

The team received reports of movement in the northeast ramp leading from the upper level following Sunday's 38-24 victory over the Cowboys, team spokeswoman Bonnie Grant said. Grant described the movement as ``lateral vibration,'' which she said can occur when ``exceptional conditions are in place, |

| -Like it or not, Terrell Owens will still be catching passes from Drew Bledsoe this week. Dallas Cowboys coach Bill Parcells stood by his quarterback Monday, instead blaming the offensive line for most of Bledsoe's mistakes in a 38-24 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. ``I'm not switching the quarterback,'' Parcells said. ``I don't think that's the answer right this minute. ... Let's try to get some of the things corrected (on the line) and we'll go from there.'' Bledsoe threw three interceptions Sunday, the |

In 2004, Dallas released quarterback Quincy Carter on Aug. 4 after reports of a failed drug test. Tampa Bay deactivated receiver Keyshawn Johnson for the final six games in 2003 |

His future with the Titans might be in jeopardy, too. Gurode, who will play Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles, needed 30 stitches to fix the damage and since has been bothered by headaches and blurred vision. But Cowboys coach Bill Parcells proclaimed Gurode ``fine, ready to go.'' He's still adjusting to the bandages on his head and even wore his helmet d |

Simon signed with the Colts last year after sitting out training camp in a contract dispute with the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles released Simon on Aug. 28, and four days later the Colts signed him to a multiyear contract - hoping he would be the final piece to their Super Bowl puzzle. IRVING, Texas (AP) -Walking off the field after this past Sunday's game in Tennessee, Terrell Owens already had the Philadelphia Eagles on his mind. ``He said, `Get ready to go, it's a big one,''' tight end Jason Witten said Thursday. ``There were a couple of other things he said, but I don't know that I could tell you guys them.'' GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -Andy Reid figured something must have been wrong if old pal Brett Favre didn't say hello to him on the field after their game Monday night. So the Philadelphia Eagles coach called Favre on Tuesday to make sure he was OK. ``I said, 'Yeah, one of your guys cheap-shotted me,' which is not true,'' Favre said. ``But he said, 'Yeah, he hit you pretty good.''' Favre is still feeling the effects of the pinched nerve and possible slight concussion he sustained after he was hit hard in the Gre |
