ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) -The Oakland Raiders replaced offensive coordinator Tom Walsh on Tuesday, promoting tight ends coach John Shoop to take charge of the team's struggling offense. Walsh is a close friend of coach Art Shell, having served as his offensive coordinator during Shell's first stint as Raiders coach. But Walsh had been out of the NFL since being fired with Shell after the 1994 season and was the recipient of much of the blame for the NFL's worst offense. Walsh's previous jobs as a bed and br |

| drunken driving early Monday, the sixth run-in with the law by a Chargers player since April. San Diego police took Gordon, a 23-year-old rookie, into custody in downtown's Gaslamp Quarter about 2:15 a.m., some 10 hours after the Chargers beat the Oakland Raiders 21-14. His car was impounded, and he was released on his own recognizance later in the morning, a jail clerk said. ``I think we need to wait until all the facts are brought out,'' coach Marty Schottenheimer said. ``He was brought in. ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) -There's been the Immaculate Reception, the Tuck Rule and now this for the Oakland Raiders. Another memorable call that went against Oakland and helped cost the Raiders a game. The call in Sunday's game against San Diego that overturned a fumble and helped the Chargers rally for the tying score in a 21-14 victory. The play came on fourth-and-2 from the Raiders 40 with about 12 minutes left in a game Oakland led 14-7. Vincent Jackson made a diving catch of a 13-yard pass from Phili |

| San Diego, CA (MySportsbook) - LaDainian Tomlinson rushed for 109 yards on 19 carries with a pair of touchdowns and a 19-yard touchdown pass, as the San Diego Chargers got their fifth consecutive victory when they topped the lowly Oakland Raiders, 21-14, in a divisional battle at Qualcomm Stadium. "He's [Tomlinson] remarkable," San Diego coach Marty Schottenheimer said. "It's appropriate to say everyone understands where we start and finish on offense, and it's through him." SAN DIEGO (AP) -A moment of celebration by San Diego receiver Vincent Jackson turned into 10 minutes of confusion in the fourth quarter of the Chargers game with the rival Oakland Raiders. With the Chargers trailing 14-7 and facing fourth-and-2 from the Raiders 40, Jackson caught a 13-yard pass from Philip Rivers, rolled to the ground untouched, then stood up and spun the ball forward. Oakland's Fabian Washington jumped on the ball, believing it was a fumble, and setting off 10 minutes of confusion as the |

SAN DIEGO (AP) -LaDainian Tomlinson's backup, Michael Turner, was inactive for San Diego's game Sunday against the Oakland Raiders, as was Chargers left guard Kris Dielman. Turner, who also returns kickoffs, injured a hamstring in practice on Thursday. Dielman has an ankle injury. Defensive end Luis Castillo missed his third straight game with an ankle injury. Also inactive were safety Marlon McCree and wide receiver Keenan McCardell, both with calf injuries. The Raiders were missing running back LaMo |

| ated Jacksonville for the second time this year and lost to Buffalo in the waning seconds. I wouldn't be at all shocked to see Houston march into the Meadowlands and take out the Jets. The third and final selection might raise some eyebrows, but the Oakland Raiders will give the Chargers a run for their money. San Diego is coming off an emotional win over the Broncos, and a letdown is entirely possible vs. the 2-8 Raiders. The Chargers have been an offensive machine as of late, having scored 27 points or more |

SAN DIEGO (AP) -LaDainian Tomlinson is playing so well that even the archrival Oakland Raiders are saying nice things about him. Maybe the guys in silver and black have become desensitized after losing so much to the AFC West-leading Chargers, who will be going for their seventh straight win against last-place Oakland on Sunday at Qualcomm Stadium. That's never been done by the Chargers (8-2) in a series that dates to the AFL's birth in 1960. Or maybe they just can't help but be impressed by Tomlinson's |
