Strickland injured his groin in the eighth inning of Saturday's, 4-2, 10- inning victory over the San Diego Padres. The 27-year-old Strickland owns a 2.25 ERA in 19 games this season. He has yielded just five earned runs and 16 hits in 20 innings this season. The Mets recalled left-handed pitcher Jaime Cerda from Triple-A Norfolk to take Strickland's roster spot. |
