Young quarterback knows Ravens defense his toughest test yet NFL Football 09/19/2007
``try to intimidate me, try to bring pressure, disrupt me, because if they disrupt the quarterback, obviously the offense gets disrupted.''

Leinart said he saw hope in the play of another young quarterback from the Pac-10, Kellen Clemens, for the New York Jets in their 20-13 loss to Baltimore last Sunday.

``They got him pretty good, but he made some plays, and they (the Jets) had a chance to win the ball game,'' Leinart said. ``They're going to make plays, they're going to get hits on us. That's just pa

Pennington hopes to play against Dolphins NFL Football 09/19/2007
Hempstead, NY (MySportsbook) - New York Jets quarterback Chad Pennington hopes his injured right ankle has healed enough for him to play in the team's game against the Miami Dolphins Sunday. "I've made a lot of progress and that's a tribute to our medical staff," Pennington said on Wednesday. "People inside and outside of the organization are really working hard, focusing on getting me better, rehabbing and working extremely hard around the clock. I'm making progress and I feel really good about the situa
Jets place Pro Bowl KR Miller on IR NFL Football 09/18/2007
Hempstead, NY (MySportsbook) - The New York Jets placed cornerback/kick returner Justin Miller on injured reserve on Tuesday. Miller suffered a serious right knee injury while returning a kickoff in the second quarter of New York's 20-13 loss to Baltimore on Sunday. Drafted in the second round (57th overall) of the 2005 NFL Draft, Miller made the Pro Bowl last year after returning 46 kickoffs for 1,304 yards and two touchdowns. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell fined Belichick $500,000 and the Patriots $250,000 after the team had someone videotaping signals on the New York Jets sideline during the season opener. The team also will have to forfeit draft picks, depending on how well it does this year.

``I hear people say in the business world sometimes, 'We're always trying to create a winning edge,''' Saban said. ``In spo

Jets place Pro Bowl KR Justin Miller on injured reserve with knee injury NFL Football 09/18/2007

NEW YORK (AP) -The New York Jets placed Pro Bowl kick returner-cornerback Justin Miller on injured reserve Tuesday because of a knee injury.

The speedy Miller, who led the NFL last season in yards per kickoff return, injured his right knee during a 22-yard return early in the second quarter of New York's 20-13 loss at Baltimore on Sunday. He stayed on the turf for several minutes before being helped off the field and taken to the locker room.

The nature and severity of the injury was not immediately k

Clemens, Jets come up short in Baltimore NFL Football 09/18/2007
(MySportsbook) - Through the first three quarters of their loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, the New York Jets would have been better off with Clarence Clemons under center rather than what they had in Kellen Clemens. But, in the fourth quarter Clemens, who was making his first NFL start in place of the injured Chad Pennington, showed why he was a second-round pick in 2006 and why Jets fans have been clamoring to see him since training camp began. And for this week's game, both teams would love to throw their records out a window, or at least get a do-over to start the year. The Jets are also 0-2, joining Miami and Buffa

DRESS TRUMPS BELICHICK Belichick is a heavyweight in the NFL coaching ranks and much has been made of his legendary haughtiness, especially after NFL commissioner Roger Goodell slapped him with a $500,000 fine last week for spying by videotaping the New York Jets' defensive signals. Brad Childress knows all about Belichick's heavy-handed ways, and while the Vikings coach is certainly still finding his way, Childress got the best of the Patriots mentor on the personnel front last week. Here's the background:
Ravens DE Pryce out 3-5 weeks; McNair could return NFL Football 09/17/2007
ings Mills, MD (MySportsbook) - Baltimore Ravens defensive end Trevor Pryce is expected to miss 3-to-5 weeks due to a broken left wrist. Price had surgery Sunday night on the wrist, which he injured during the third quarter of a 20-13 win over the New York Jets. A four-time Pro Bowl selection, Pryce topped the Ravens with 13 sacks last season. Ravens coach Brian Billick said Monday that quarterback Steve McNair, who missed Sunday's contest due to a strained groin, is expected to practice Wednesday with the
