| Florham Park, NJ (MySportsbook) - New York Jets center Nick Mangold was termed "iffy" for playing this Sunday at Oakland due to an ankle injury. Jets coach Rex Ryan said during his press conference Monday that Mangold had an MRI, which revealed a high right ankle sprain. And he's started 80-some games in a row. |

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) - Rex Ryan put the ball in his offense's hands to start the game, and challenged his players to prove their doubters wrong. Those critics included the New York Jets' coach, who got on his guys at the team hotel Saturday night. They need to start faster, he told them, return to their ``Ground-and-Pound'' approach and protect quarterback Mark Sanchez better. Check. Check. And, check. Sanchez and the Jets broke a 16-game skid in which they failed to score an offensive touchdo |

HONOLULU (AP) - A Super Bowl ring lost four decades ago off Waikiki will soon be returned to former New York Jets center John Schmitt. KGMB-TV in Honolulu (http://bit.ly/qJVZih ) reports that a Hawaii family wants to return the ring to Schmitt, who earned the ring when the Jets upset the Baltimore Colts in the 1969 Super Bowl.
