The triumph, New England's seventh in its last eight games dating back to last season, moved the 3-1 Pats into a first-place tie with the rival New York Jets for the top spot in the AFC East. Denver will be seeking its first 5-0 start since 1998, a year in which the John Elway-led franchise won its first 13 games en route to a second straight Super Bowl title. NEW YORK (AP) -Wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery is questionable for the New York Jets' game against the Miami Dolphins after missing practice for a second straight day. Cornerback Lito Sheppard was limited Saturday and listed as doubtful for the game at Miami on Monday night with a strained right quadriceps. FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) -David Harris welcomes the challenge of trying to stop the Miami Ground Machine in its tracks. ``It's definitely a pride thing,'' the New York Jets' playmaking linebacker said. It certainly won't be an easy task, though. A week after facing New Orleans' top-ranked offense, the big-talking Jets defense takes on the Miami Dolphins and their No. 1 rushing attack Monday night. ``We pride ourselves on being able to stop the run on the defensive side of the ball,'' Harris said. ``W |

| guess we're kind of used to that around here.'' Other former Patriots assistants didn't fare so well when they first became head coaches. Defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel ultimately was fired by the Cleveland Browns, as was Eric Mangini by the New York Jets. Former offensive coordinator Charlie Weis is still the head coach at Notre Dame, though his teams have struggled in his tenure. McDaniels has succeeded so far, and he credits his time in New England for paving the way. But he's also his own man.< |

MIAMI (AP) -When it comes to sacks, Rex Ryan gets defensive about his defense. The New York Jets have only four sacks this season, which isn't very Ryan-like. He's the NFL's most blitz-happy coach and takes pride in the way his defenses shake, rattle and roll quarterbacks. Four sacks? That's next to last in the league. What's up, Rex? ``If you're just looking at stats, you'd say, 'Man, we cannot even come close to the quarterback. We've been very poor,''' Ryan said. ``But if you count hits and press |

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) -New York Jets wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery was limited at practice with a hamstring injury that isn't expected to sideline him for the team's game at Miami on Monday night. ``We expect Jerricho, obviously, to play,'' coach Rex Ryan said Thursday. Also limited were safety Kerry Rhodes (knee) and cornerback Lito Sheppard (right quadriceps). Sheppard has missed the last two games with the injury, but has been improving. ``I'm not positive he'll play for sure,'' Ryan said. `` |

Either way anyone adds it up, Edwards being dealt to the New York Jets provided the latest subplot in what's regarded as an early season Misery Loves Company Bowl on Sunday. Buffalo (1-3) and Cleveland (0-4) are two struggling franchises proving they have far more in common than sharing a Lake Erie shoreline. It can' |

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) -Floyd Mayweather Jr. stopped by the New York Jets' practice facility, and came up with a knockout of an idea for his next career move. ``I think I could play in the NFL now,'' the six-time champion boxer said with a laugh Thursday. ``I'm going to talk to the owner.'' Mayweather and several members of his entourage watched the last several minutes of practice before speaking with the team. He also took photos with players and threw the football around, including a few passes to |

But now that Edwards has been dispatched to the New York Jets, Massaquoi may quickly become the No. 1 target for Browns quarterback Derek Anderson and a no-name Cleveland (0-4) offense still struggling to find its way this season.
