| Newark, NJ (MySportsbook) - The New Jersey Devils signed defensemen Sheldon Brookbank and Mike Mottau to new contracts on Thursday. Per team policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed. Brookbank, 27, was claimed off waivers from Columbus on October 2, 2007 and made his season debut on October 25. He played in 44 games with New Jersey last season and registered eight assists.
