| East Rutherford, NJ (MySportsbook) - New Jersey Devils forward Joe Nieuwendyk notched the 1,000th point of his career with a goal in Sunday's 4-3 victory over Pittsburgh. Nieuwendyk's goal tied the game at 3-3 with 10:56 left to play in the third period. Less than a minute later, Scott Gomez scored and the Devils held on for the win. | at about Patrick Roy? Was his shelling in Game 7 of last year's conference finals a sign that the days of him being the best "money" goaltender in the league are over? And of course we cannot forget about other traditional contenders like the stingy New Jersey Devils and the re-tooled Dallas Stars, who both may have a gripe with the Red Wings and Avalanche being called the teams to beat. The best part of all this is that no one really has a clue as to what will actually happen come spring. Recent playoff history |

| East Rutherford, NJ (MySportsbook) - New Jersey Devils defenseman Colin White is expected to be sidelined for at least a week after suffering a sprained right knee during Wednesday's game against Ottawa. White was hurt in the second period of the 5-3 loss while trying to check Ottawa's Mike Fisher. The defenseman's knee was bent backward and he crawled off the ice in pain. Tests on Thursday revealed only a sprain and no ligament damage. White has five goals and seven assists in 59 games this season. His plus- |

| (MySportsbook) - Roman Cechmanek wasn't named the first star of Tuesday night's crucial home match against the New Jersey Devils. Heck, he wasn't even named the second or third star. The whole system must be breaking down then, because the Czech backstop single-handedly prevented the Devils from skating away with a win and a six- point lead in the Atlantic Division standings. Cechmanek finished with 34 saves on the night, including a stellar sequence on Devils rookie Mike Rupp in the waning seconds. Rupp skat |

His tally Tuesday night in Philadelphia did not clinch anything and it didn't even win a game. But that doesn't diminish its importance. Friesen scored late in the third period for New Jersey to salvage to a 2-2 tie with Philadelphia at the First Union Center. John Madden also scored for the Devils, who have not lost in four games against the Flyers this season (3-0-1). F |
