| Foxboro, MA (MySportsbook) - New York Jets center Nick Mangold started Sunday's game against the New England Patriots. Mangold has been sidelined since suffering a high ankle sprain during the first quarter of a Week 2 win over Jacksonville. Prior to the injury, Mangold had started all 82 games since the Jets picked him 29th overall in the 2006 draft. Rookie center Colin Baxter has started the last two games for New York. Mangold was a limited participant in practice this week before making the start. |

Perhaps the team that's reeling from two straight losses and burgeoning locker- room dissension after a blemish-concealing 2-0 start, needs nothing more than a return date with their biggest rival -- the New England Patriots -- to right its collective ship. Or maybe a trip to Gillette Stadium, home of the NFL's most prolific offense and a coaching staff that lives and breathes for the chance to humble Gang Green, is the last place on Earth that Rex Ryan really wants to |

Mangold was replaced the last two games by rookie Colin Baxter, who struggled last week at Baltimore. Ryan says ``it's just a matter of time'' before Ellis makes his NFL debut, but it might not be this Sunday against the New England Patriots. He was drafted amid some legal troubles and is scheduled to go on trial in February, but he's not allowing that to distract him on the field.Copyright © 2005 The Associated Press. ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) - A meeting with Tom Brady and the New England Patriots showed the Oakland Raiders how far they still need to go to be mentioned among the AFC's elite teams. A week after bullying the New York Jets in an emotional victory in the home opener, the Raiders were dealt a dose of reality in a 31-19 loss to the Patriots that exposed plenty of issues that still need to be addressed if Oakland wants to end a run of eight straight non-winning seasons. ``We're going to fix it, and we have just the |
