| AFC East: Pats' hard-earned win exposes some flaws |
NFL Football |

| (MySportsbook) - Perhaps it was unrealistic to expect the New England Patriots to display their 2007 form in Week 1 of the 2009 season. Even with Tom Brady back after missing nearly all of the 2008 campaign with a serious knee injury, and surrounded by new weapons like Fred Taylor and Joey Galloway. Even while facing a Buffalo Bills squad that looked to be as big a mess as any in the NFL entering Week 1, with an offensive coordinator that had been in his job all of one week, a starting running back on the suspen |

| Foxboro, MA (MySportsbook) - New England Patriots linebacker Jerod Mayo, the reigning Defensive Rookie of the Year Award winner, injured his right knee in the first quarter of Monday's season opener against the Bills. Mayo, the 10th overall pick in the 2008 draft, was able to walk to the sideline under his own power after suffering the injury, but quickly exited to the locker room. Mayo did not return to the game and there was no update on his status following New England's 25-24 comeback victory. Last season, M |

| more. The visiting Broncos have already had a season's worth of drama in the past few months, and then some. It started when team owner Pat Bowlen fired Mike Shanahan after 14 seasons and two Super Bowl victories, replacing him with then-32-year-old New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. McDaniels took a "scorched earth" approach to a roster that had presided over an 8-8 season in 2008, almost completely overhauling the defense and, more controversially, seeking to replace 26-year-old Pro Bowl q |

The Chiefs dealt a second-round draft pick to acquire Matt Cassel from the New England Patriots in February, subsequently signaling their confidence in him by signing the former USC backup to a six-year, $63 million contract including $28 million in guaranteed money. But Cassel suffered an MCL strain in the team's third preseason game, against |

| or lowered them. The main reason for the percentage increase was the new Dallas Cowboys' stadium that cost $1.2 billion to build. The average ticket to a Cowboys game costs $159.65, a record for the Fan Cost Index survey, which dates to 1991. The New England Patriots previously had the priciest ticket in pro sports and that cost remained the same at $117.84. Eighteen teams maintained ticket prices, and the Lions, who were 0-16 in 2008, dropped prices 1 percent.Copyright © 2005 The Associated Press. All ri |

| Foxboro, MA (MySportsbook) - The New England Patriots on Sunday traded defensive lineman Richard Seymour to Oakland in exchange for the Raiders' 2011 first-round pick. Seymour, a five-time Pro Bowl selection, was an influential member of a Patriots defense that won three Super Bowls in a four-year span. Last season, the 29-year-old recorded eight sacks and 52 tackles in 15 games. The sixth overall pick in 2001 out of Georgia, Seymour has 39 sacks and 357 tackles in 111 career games with New England. |

Feeley signed a three-year contract extension in 2007 that ran through next season but Philadelphia's recent signing of Michael Vick put the nine-year pro's future with the team in question. The New England Patriots have been rumored to be interested in his services as they have only undrafted rookie Brian Hoyer backing up Tom Brady. The Oregon product was in his second stint with the Birds, having appeared in 12 regular-season games over six seasons with the c |
