Vikings/Eagles to play Sunday night in Week 16 NFL Football 12/13/2010
New York, NY (MySportsbook) - The NFL has finalized its Week 16 schedule and has decided to move the game between the Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Eagles to Sunday night. The original schedule called for the San Diego Chargers and Cincinnati Bengals as the prime time matchup on NBC, but that contest has been moved to 4:05 p.m. (et) on CBS. Seattle and Tampa Bay was also moved from 1 p.m. (et) to 4:15 p.m. (et) on Sunday. The NFL is again utilizing a "flexible scheduling" system for the final seven weeks
Free tix sold for Giants-Vikings game in Detroit Headlines 12/13/2010

DETROIT (AP) - Walter Gaiter showed up at Ford Field for free tickets to the New York Giants-Minnesota Vikings game.

He was about an hour and $100 short as some scalping began. Gaiter says he was in line at 10 a.m. ET Monday when he and hundreds of people braving frigid weather were told the free tickets were no longer available.

The Lions say there was an ``overwhelming response'' to tickets for Minnesota's home game that was moved to Detroit's indoor stadium because heavy snow collapsed the Metrodome's

Favre's status, venue change bring intrigue to Vikings-Giants tilt NFL Football 12/13/2010
(MySportsbook) - The two straight wins the Minnesota Vikings have delivered following a change in leadership have indeed been impressive, albeit far less so than Brett Favre's incredible run of 297 consecutive starts. The Vikings are hoping both streaks can continue this week, when the revitalized team takes the NFC East co-leading New York Giants in a Monday night encounter that will now take place in the neutral setting of Detroit's Ford Field due to the effects a severe winter storm that has rendered the M

urer and roof installer, Birdair Inc. of Amherst, N.Y., is scheduled to inspect the damage and devise a plan to fix the roof, which collapsed early Sunday.

The weight tore three holes in the dome's Teflon roof and dumped a huge pile of snow on the Minnesota Vikings' playing field.

Commission chairman Roy Terwilliger says it's the fourth roof collapse since the stadium opened nearly 30 years ago, all caused by heavy snow.Copyright © 2005 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. The information containe

Lions halt distribution of free NFL tickets Headlines 12/13/2010

DETROIT (AP) - The Detroit Lions have stopped distributing free tickets to Monday night's football game between the Minnesota Vikings and the New York Giants.

The team said in a statement Monday there was an ``overwhelming response'' to tickets for the Vikings' home game that was moved to Monday at Ford Field in Detroit after the Metrodome's inflated roof collapsed under the weight of heavy snow a day earlier.

The Lions said those holding a ticket to the Giants-Vikings game scheduled in Minneapolis will b

Dome food donated to food shelf Headlines 12/12/2010

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The collapse of the Metrodome roof wasn't bad for everyone.

Aramark, the Minnesota Vikings' food preparer, is donating all the food prepared for the postponed game between the New York Giants and Vikings to a food shelf.

The game was originally scheduled for Sunday afternoon. But it was moved to Monday night in Detroit after a snowstorm caved in the roof Sunday morning.

Aramark general manager Corey Hedrick called it ``an easy decision'' to give all the prepared food to Minneapolis-ba

Ford Field to host Giants-Vikings game NFL Football 12/12/2010
New York, NY (MySportsbook) - A game between the New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings has been moved to Ford Field in Detroit after the roof of the Metrodome in Minneapolis collapsed under the weight of snow accumulation. The inflatable roof over the Vikings' home field gave way early Sunday, captured in a stunning video by a camera inside the stadium. The game, originally scheduled for Sunday, had already been postponed until Monday night at 7:20 p.m. (et) after the Giants were grounded in Kansas City, unab
Dome disaster: Snow wrecks Vikings' home Headlines 12/12/2010

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The Minnesota Vikings' long push for a new stadium has been stuck in neutral for more than a decade, but scary images of the Metrodome's wrecked roof might accelerate the process.

While stadium workers started the cleanup and repair Sunday after a storm that brought 17 inches of snow and wind gusts up to 30 mph the day before, the Vikings left for Detroit, where their game against the New York Giants was moved by the NFL for Monday.

Frazier says Favre still game-time decision NFL Football 12/12/2010

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The Minnesota Vikings say Brett Favre is still a game-time decision for their postponed matchup with the New York Giants in Detroit on Monday night.

Favre told USA Today on Sunday that he doubted he would be able to play ``but it does buy a little time'' as he tries to keep his NFL record of 297 straight regular-season starts alive.

The 41-year-old quarterback barely practiced all week as he tried to recover from a sprained SC joint in his throwing shoulder.

Coach Leslie Frazier says

Stadium roof failure sends Vikings to Detroit NFL Football 12/12/2010

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The National Football League has moved Monday's game between the Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants to Detroit after the Minneapolis Metrodome's roof collapsed in a winter blizzard.

Kickoff at Ford Field will be 7:20 p.m. Eastern.

The league briefly considered moving the game to the University of Minnesota's TCF Bank Stadium, but the school says it couldn't be ready in time.

The Metrodome's Teflon roof failed about 5 a.m. Sunday after a blizzard dumped more than 17 inches of snow o
