Soaring Eagles seek division crown in bout with battered Vikes NFL Football 12/24/2010
rback. Open doors eventually close, however, and it slammed shut on Kolb. The NFC East-leading Eagles are now Michael Vick's team, and the former incarcerated star has a chance to give Reid his sixth division title since taking over in 1999 when the Minnesota Vikings make a stop at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday night. Vick and the Eagles are coming off an improbable road win over the New York Giants, scoring 28 points in less than eight minutes to go in the game for a 38-31 victory and a chance to wrap up th
Favre listed as doubtful for Eagles game NFL Football 12/24/2010

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) - Leslie Frazier counted Brett Favre out once before. He's not about to do it again.

The Minnesota Vikings coach says Favre will be listed as doubtful with a concussion, leaving the door open for the 41-year-old quarterback to play against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night.

A week ago, the Vikings listed Favre as ``out'' for the game against Chicago with a sprained right shoulder. He was surprisingly upgraded to questionable the day of the game and ended up starting against

Eagles DB Coleman ready to step up against Vikings NFL Football 12/24/2010

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Kurt Coleman is the latest rookie defensive back to get an opportunity with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Coleman will start at free safety when Philadelphia (10-4) hosts the Minnesota Vikings (5-9) on Sunday night. The Eagles can clinch their first NFC East championship in four years with a victory.

``This is why you play,'' Coleman said Thursday. ``You love big games. Any type of competitor wants to play in this type of game, this type of atmosphere. It's nothing new to me. I'm going to b

Vikings CB Winfield fined NFL Football 12/23/2010
Minneapolis, MN (MySportsbook) - Minnesota Vikings cornerback Antoine Winfield was reportedly fined $7,500 by the NFL on Thursday for a hit on Chicago quarterback Jay Cutler on Monday night. The Minneapolis Tribune is reporting the fine that was issued to Winfield for hitting Cutler in the chin with his helmet on a play in the second quarter. Cutler needed stitches to close the wound, but remained in the game and threw three touchdown passes in Chicago's 40-14 win that helped the team clinch the NFC North. No
Concussion has Favre in limbo; Webb preps to start NFL Football 12/22/2010

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) - The Minnesota Vikings are preparing this week as if Brett Favre won't be able to start because of a concussion that knocked him out of the last game.

Interim coach Leslie Frazier says Favre's status will be day to day. He'll take daily tests until he's cleared by the team's medical staff. Until then, he won't be allowed to take the field.

The Vikings have two games left. Favre has said this will be his final season.

Frazier says the plan is to have rookie Joe Webb start Sunday

intimate chat about her feet.

Asked about it during a conference call Wednesday, Ryan said he is ``not really going to discuss it.''

This isn't the first time the Jets have turned up on Deadspin this season.

In October, the site reported that Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre sent racy text messages and photos to a former game hostess while he was the Jets' quarterback in 2008.

The NFL is still investigating the allegations.Copyright © 2005 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. The inf

Minn. Metrodome roof nearly clear of snow and ice NFL Football 12/22/2010

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Workers are finally close to clearing the Metrodome roof of snow and ice so that more substantial repair work can begin on the home of the Minnesota Vikings.

The executive director of the Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission says crews hope to have the roof clear on Wednesday. He says it's still not clear how long total repairs will take, whether it will involve replacing damaged panels or replacing the roof entirely, and how much it will all cost.

Three panels were damaged in a bl

NFC North: Bears still have work to do NFL Football 12/21/2010
yoffs and NFC North champions for the first time since reaching the Super Bowl in 2006, there's still a few hurdles to clear before making a deep postseason run. The Bears clinched a division title in impressive fashion by handing the division-rival Minnesota Vikings a 40-14 beating on a frigid Monday night at TCF Bank Stadium in Minnesota. They overcame not knowing where the game was going to be held earlier in the week after the roof collapsed at the Metrodome and brushed off Brett Favre's return from a should
Favre suffers concussion, future play undecided NFL Football 12/21/2010
Minneapolis, MN (MySportsbook) - Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre left Monday's 40-14 loss against the Chicago Bears with a concussion. In the second quarter, Favre dropped back to pass and was wrapped up by Corey Wootton, who slammed Favre to the ground as the quarterback landed on his left shoulder. Staff came out to tend to Favre, who walked off the field under his own power before Minnesota punted the ball away. "It's one of the few times I kinda went blank there for a while, in my career," said
Favre's latest start ends with concussion, loss NFL Football 12/21/2010

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Brett Favre talked his way back into the starting lineup, hoping a snowy Monday night game would be just the setting he needed.

The 41-year-old got the hometown crowd roaring when he led the Minnesota Vikings to a touchdown on the opening drive, and all the ingredients were there for one last memorable Monday with Favre.

``I knew it was the last home game,'' Favre said afterward. ``This also may seem kind of crazy, but I was looking forward to playing in a blizzard.''

Instead, his sur
