| Eden Prairie, MN (MySportsbook) - The Minnesota Vikings signed defensive end Stylez G. White on Monday. In four seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, White, 32, totaled 137 tackles and 24 sacks while appearing in all but one game during that time. Born Greg White, the lineman changed his name in 2008, choosing "Stylez" based on a character from the well-known 1985 Michael J. Fox movie "Teen Wolf." Also on Monday, the Vikings placed offensive lineman Scott Kooistra on injured reserve. |

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Receiver Percy Harvin and tight end Visanthe Shiancoe are among the Minnesota Vikings who will be held out of Saturday's preseason game at Seattle. Harvin hasn't practiced much this week because of a rib injury and Shiancoe is still working on a pulled hamstring that kept him out of the preseason opener. Right guard Anthony Herrera and cornerback Asher Allen also will miss the game. Herrera practiced for the first time this week in his bid to return from a torn ACL while Allen has a toe |

There is no denying that Ponder's steady influence will be missed, as he was a first-round selection of the Minnesota Vikings this past spring. Star guard Rodney Hudson also exits Tallahassee, but the return of eight starters is encouraging for a team that is poised to make a national title run. | Nashville, TN (MySportsbook) - Jake Locker enjoyed a sharp professional debut, tossing a touchdown pass in the Tennessee Titans' 14-3 win over the Minnesota Vikings in a preseason opener. Locker, the eighth overall pick in the 2011 draft, spelled starter Matt Hasselbeck after Tennessee's first series and completed 7-of-10 passes for 89 yards. In the second quarter, Locker fumbled a snap, but recovered the ball and found Yamon Figurs for a 45-yard touchdown. Hasselbeck, who was signed by the Titans after leavi |

MANKATO, Minn. (AP) - The Minnesota Vikings have finished the out-of-town portion of training camp in relatively good health. The Vikings held their final open-to-the-public practice Thursday in Mankato. Tight end Visanthe Shiancoe was out this week with a hamstring injury and won't play in Saturday's exhibition at Tennessee. Cornerback Cedric Griffin will also be held out as a precaution in his comeback from knee surgery. Right guard Anthony Herrera remains on the physically unable to perform list as, re |

MANKATO, Minn. (AP) - Jared Allen says he can always find reason for motivation at the start of a season. The Minnesota Vikings defensive end has an easy target with the way last year went. He finished with 11 sacks, but he didn't make the Pro Bowl. The Vikings went 6-10, which Allen says stings the most. His teammate on the defensive line, Kevin Williams, says he thinks Allen might ``break a sack record'' considering the way he's been performing in practice during training camp this month. MANKATO, Minn. (AP) - Chris Cook's promising start to his rookie season with the Minnesota Vikings was derailed by knee problems - namely the same injury to each one. Cook says the experience was humbling. The cornerback first suffered a torn meniscus on his left knee during a preseason game and then a tear of the same cartilage on his right knee in a regular season game a month later. The second-round draft pick from Virginia was in line to be the nickel back, but his own health kept him from stabilizing |
