| (MySportsbook) - The Miami Dolphins wanted Chad Henne to gain some experience this season, but this is not the way the team was hoping to get him in the lineup. Henne will make his first NFL start on Sunday, when the Dolphins look to notch their initial win of 2009 against the also-struggling Buffalo Bills, and Henne will also be opening behind center for the foreseeable future. Chad Pennington, who has started all 20 games during Tony Sparano's tenure as head coach, tore the capsule in his throwing should |

The Chargers will be coming in on a high note, however, after delivering a 23-13 home win over the reeling Miami Dolphins this past Sunday. Quarterback Philip Rivers once again led the way with a 303-yard effort, bringing the fiery field general's league-leading total to 991 passing yards through the opening three weeks. Rivers is expected to get some needed help to an |

Jacksonville Jaguars receiver Torry Holt has a ring finger that bends behind his middle finger; Miami Dolphins linebacker Reggie Torbor has a right pinkie that doglegs at a 30-degree angle. So maybe defensive backs aren't the hands-down winner, pardon the pun, in the crooked finger standings, but the nature of the position makes them the most vulnerable. T |

| Davie, FL (MySportsbook) - Miami Dolphins linebacker Joey Porter is questionable for Sunday's game against Buffalo with a hamstring injury. Porter, who is the only player listed on Miami's injury report, did not practice all week because of the ailment. He has recorded six tackles and two sacks over the first three games of the season for the 0-3 Dolphins. The veteran played through the injury against San Diego last week and has missed just six games over his 11-year career in the NFL. |

DAVIE, Fla. (AP) -Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Paul Soliai (SO-lee-eye) is mourning the deaths of at least two relatives on the disaster-stricken Samoas, and he fears the toll for his family could grow worse. The number of causalities among relatives of Soliai and his wife is unclear. He said virtually all of his family lives on the Pacific islands, where an earthquake and tsunami Tuesday killed at least 150 people. Soliai said he has been able to reach his family by cell phone. MIAMI (AP) -The Bill Parcells formula for success is failing the Miami Dolphins. They're running the ball well and stopping the run, converting third downs and dominating time of possession. Yet they're 0-3. Parcells protege Tony Sparano scratches his head at how his team has won on the ground but lost on the scoreboard. ``I guess I've seen it before,'' the Dolphins' coach said, ``but I've got to look far and hard.'' Miami is unlikely to change its conservative ways Sunday against Buffalo - not wit |

DAVIE, Fla. (AP) -Miami Dolphins linebacker Joey Porter has missed practice for the second day in a row because of a sore hamstring. Porter did light exercises on the side Thursday while the team practiced. He was also bothered by the injury last week and unable to finish Sunday's game at San Diego. Porter has missed only six games in his 11-year NFL career, and none since 2006. He would likely be replaced by Charlie Anderson, who has six career starts.Copyright © 2005 The Associated Press. | Davie, FL (MySportsbook) - In need of a quarterback after the injury to Chad Pennington, the Miami Dolphins acquired Tyler Thigpen from the Kansas City Chiefs on Tuesday in exchange for an undisclosed draft pick. Pennington suffered a shoulder injury during this past Sunday's game against San Diego and could be sidelined for the remainder of the season. Thigpen, in his third season out of Coastal Carolina, played 14 games and made 11 starts for the Chiefs last year. He was relegated to fighting for a backu |

| (MySportsbook) - The Miami Dolphins wanted Chad Henne to get some experience this season. Given the second-round investment the team had made in the former Michigan signal-caller in the 2008 Draft, coupled with the fact that starter Chad Pennington was in the final year of his contract, Tony Sparano and company had an interest in getting Henne on the field in a meaningful situation. And though Pennington's injury history didn't make the circumstances of Henne's elevation to No. 1 quarterback a shock, this |

DAVIE, Fla. (AP) -Chad Pennington may not be available to give his winless team a much-needed lift. The Miami Dolphins quarterback dislocated his right shoulder and may seek a second opinion to determine how long he'll be sidelined, a person familiar with his status said Monday. The person insisted on anonymity because the Dolphins have said little about the injury. Teammates braced for a new quarterback, with backup Chad Henne expected to make his first NFL start in Sunday's home game against Buffalo. |
