Picky Patriots get past Dolphins NFL Football 10/09/2006
Foxboro, MA (MySportsbook) - Asante Samuel intercepted Joey Harrington twice to set up a pair of Tom Brady touchdown passes, as the New England Patriots notched a 20-10 victory over the Miami Dolphins at Gillette Stadium. Samuel's interceptions led to touchdown drives of 10 and 24 yards for the Patriots (4-1), who converted three Miami turnovers into 17 points and won their second straight game despite being outgained 283-213. "Turnovers are huge. It's the best way to defeat another team," Samuel said. "If
Miami's Morris reinstated NFL Football 10/08/2006
Miami, FL (MySportsbook) - Miami Dolphins running back Sammy Morris was reinstated to the team for Sunday's road game against New England. Morris was suspended without pay for the first four games of the season for violating the NFL Policy on Anabolic Steroids and Related Substances. Morris started in two of the 16 games in which he played for the Dolphins last season. He rushed for 58 yards on 16 carries and caught eight passes for 54 yards. The Dolphins also waived guard William Whitticker on Saturday.
Culpepper added to injury report NFL Football 10/06/2006
Davie, FL (MySportsbook) - Miami Dolphins quarterback Daunte Culpepper was added to the team's injury report Friday with a bruised right shoulder. Culpepper, who did participate in practice, missed some of the Dolphins' practice Thursday because of the shoulder problem. He is coming off major reconstructive surgery to his knee that forced him to miss most of last season. Dolphins head coach Nick Saban is expected to make a decision on Sunday, and if Culpepper cannot play, Joey Harrington will start for Mia
Can Fins Deliver on Preseason Hype in New England? NFL Football 10/06/2006
(MySportsbook) - Those searching for a changing of the guard in the AFC East should avert their eyes from Gillette Stadium this Sunday. The Week 5 confrontation between the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins was one that the preseason prognosticators believed would be among the most important games to be played in the division in 2006, though the reality has not matched up to the hype in any way. The visiting Dolphins, who appeared primed to challenge New England's long- established place atop the Eas
Culpepper still 'probable' for Miami's visit to New England NFL Football 10/06/2006

DAVIE, Fla. (AP) -Daunte Culpepper practiced with a bruised right shoulder Friday, although the Miami Dolphins have not yet decided if their starting quarterback will be ready for Sunday's visit to New England.

Culpepper missed a portion of the Dolphins' practice Thursday because of the shoulder problem, which coach Nick Saban said is a cumulative effect of being sacked 21 times through the season's first four games.

If Culpepper cannot play, Joey Harrington will start for Miami against the Patriots.

Records don't matter when division rivals clash NFL Football 10/05/2006

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) -The New England Patriots are 3-1 even though they lost their best two wide receivers. The Miami Dolphins are 1-3 even though they added quarterback Daunte Culpepper.

Now, say the Patriots, forget those numbers.

``I don't want people to be deceived by a 1-3 record,'' Tom Brady said. ``It means nothing, especially the way we've played these guys.''

Only two of the last seven meetings between the AFC East teams were decided by more than seven points. Two of those games went to ov

Culpepper on injury report, misses at least portion of practice NFL Football 10/05/2006

DAVIE, Fla. (AP) -Miami Dolphins quarterback Daunte Culpepper was added to the team's injury report Thursday because of a shoulder problem, and missed at least a portion of the team's daily workout.

The Dolphins did not specify if Culpepper, who tore knee ligaments last season and is still battling mobility issues caused by that injury, missed the entire practice.

He was listed as probable for Sunday's game at New England.

Culpepper, who was not on the Wednesday injury report, has been sacked 21 time

Leaky blocking hurts Dolphins NFL Football 10/04/2006

DAVIE, Fla. (AP) -Miami Dolphins guard Damion McIntosh says it's counterproductive to become angry, because for an offensive lineman, fiery emotions only make blocking more difficult.

And the Dolphins are having enough trouble already.

Breakdowns up front helped sabotage Miami's bid for a fast start this season. Instead the Dolphins are 1-3 going into Sunday's game at AFC East leader New England, and quarterback Daunte Culpepper is on pace to set an NFL record for most times sacked.

Dolphins reeling after loss at Houston NFL Football 10/02/2006

DAVIE, Fla. (AP) -Nick Saban was three minutes into a monologue on the sorry state of the Miami Dolphins when his voice began to rise, as if he were rehearsing for a speech to his team.

``It's only going to change when everybody decides, `I'm going to change,''' Saban said. ``If somebody doesn't want to change, they're not going to change. And if they don't do it, then we need to play somebody else.''

Alas for the Dolphins, a lot needs to change. Problems cited Monday by Saban included dropped balls, w
