KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - The Kansas City Chiefs no longer have to whisper the word ``playoffs.'' They can shout it from the rooftops if they wish. In coach Todd Haley's zeal to make sure his players kept their eyes firmly on the immediate task at hand, the word was banned this past week around Arrowhead Stadium. After their 34-14 beating of Cincinnati on Sunday and before the Bengals completed their upending of San Diego 3 hours later, players kept referring to ``the next part of the season,'' and ``the secon |

San Diego is a game out of the AFC West lead with two to play, but is buoyed by the fact that it would come out on top in any two-way tie with the division's current front-runners, the Kansas City Chiefs. Meanwhile, it appears San Diego's Wild Card ship has all but sailed after wins by Baltimore and the New York Jets last week, giving each a two-game bulge on the Chargers with two games remaining. At 9-5, Kansas City is a game up on the San Diego Chargers for supremacy in the AFC West. A victory this weekend over the Titans, coupled with a loss or tie by the Chargers in Cincinnati, |

The Chiefs had said Wednesday that a blackout was a possibility, with slow ticket sales for a game expected to be played on a very cold day when many people will be busy with family events.
