Jags release DE Wyche NFL Football 09/17/2009
Jacksonville, FL (MySportsbook) - The Jacksonville Jaguars have released oft-injured defensive end James Wyche and promoted defensive end Jeremy Navarre from the practice squad to the active roster. Wyche, who was inactive for the season-opener against Indianapolis, spent the past two seasons on injured reserve. He missed the 2008 campaign with a knee injury suffered in the preseason and also sat out the 2007 season with a groin injury. The Jaguars selected Wyche with a seventh-round pick in the 2006 draft. believed to be a sprained ankle. He was hurt on a pass play when Raiders defensive lineman Trevor Scott fell onto his leg. Hardwick was on crutches and had his foot in a walking boot after the game. Chargers guard Louis Vasquez also suffered an injury to his knee during the third quarter. Norman started 14 games at center last year for the Jacksonville Jaguars and has experience at the guard position as well. The 29-year-old has 15 starts at center, eight at guard and one at the tackle position in 64 career games.
Weaver: Tebow a compelling fit for Jaguars NFL Football 09/16/2009

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -The Jacksonville Jaguars lost 17,000 season-ticket holders after last season, a staggering number that could lead to blackouts for every home game in 2009.

Most blamed the sluggish economy. Some pointed to the slumping team. Either way, team owner Wayne Weaver has to find a way to get them back.

How about Tim Tebow?

Weaver told The Associated Press this week that drafting Tebow, the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner who grew up in Jacksonville and has top-ranked Florida seeking its third

Jacksonville, FL (MySportsbook) - The Jacksonville Jaguars have placed defensive end Reggie Hayward on injured reserve, as expected, and promoted cornerback Kennard Cox from the practice squad to the active roster. Hayward suffered a fractured lower leg in the fourth quarter of this past Sunday's season-opener against Indianapolis. He is expected to undergo surgery later this week. oach's headset may have changed for the Indianapolis Colts during the offseason, but Sunday didn't bring much of a deviation from the team's norm. The Colts, a team that won six games by six points or fewer last season, outlasted the AFC South rival Jacksonville Jaguars, 14-12, in head coach Jim Caldwell's first meaningful game since taking over for Tony Dungy. Though Peyton Manning (28-of-38 passing, 301 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT) and Reggie Wayne (10 receptions, 162 yards, 1 TD) both had big days for Indianapolis, the C

Caldwell leads Colts vs. division rival Jaguars NFL Football 09/13/2009
MySportsbook) - For the first time since 2001, Tony Dungy won't be standing on the sidelines to guide the Indianapolis Colts. The Jacksonville Jaguars couldn't be happier. Indianapolis kicks off its 2009 season and the Jim Caldwell era this Sunday with a home test against AFC South rival Jacksonville at Lucas Oil Stadium. After an 85-27 record and .759 winning percentage in seven years at the helm of the Colts, a span that included a Super Bowl title following the 2006 season, Dungy decided to call it quits. Tak
