Jags Should Be Ready for Texans This Time NFL Football 11/11/2006
an NFL adage which states that coaches and players must have a short memory. The so-called "24-hour rule" decrees that a difficult loss should never linger for more than a day, as teams attempt to focus in advance of their next challenge. Well, the Jacksonville Jaguars might throw that line of thinking out the window this week. The Jaguars, who will welcome the Houston Texans to Alltel Stadium on Sunday, were humbled by their AFC South rival by a 27-7 count back in Week 7, and chances are that the sting of that de
Jags expect 3 starting defenders to play NFL Football 11/10/2006

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -Three defensive starters returned to practice Friday for the Jacksonville Jaguars and were expected to play against the Houston Texans.

Cornerback Rashean Mathis (hamstring), defensive tackle John Henderson (hamstring) and safety Donovin Darius (knee) had missed the previous two days of practice. All three remain questionable, but returning to practice was a sign they would be able to play Sunday.

Pro Bowl defensive tackle Marcus Stroud (ankle) was officially ruled out, and will miss

me against the Washington Redskins on Sunday, the Eagles have an offense that has been inconsistent. They also have to unravel their perplexing defense.

When the Eagles left Lincoln Financial Field two Sundays ago, they were left to ponder how the Jacksonville Jaguars controlled the clock and amassed 209 rushing yards in a 13-6 victory.

Don't try to sell linebacker Jeremiah Trotter on the idea that the Jaguars manhandled the Eagles' defense, despite working nearly 37 minutes off the clock. Trotter says the vide

Garrard to probably start again NFL Football 11/07/2006
Jacksonville, FL (MySportsbook) - Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Byron Leftwich will most likely be on the bench for this Sunday's game against Houston, coach Jack Del Rio announced on Monday. If Leftwich is unable to be under center at the start of the game, David Garrard will make his third start of the season. "Byron is about 85-90 percent and is probably not going to get better than that until he has a long time off," said Del Rio. "In my opinion, he's about as good as he's going to get." Leftwich suffered

Jags Look to end Titans' Two-Game Win Streak NFL Football 11/03/2006
(MySportsbook) - The Jacksonville Jaguars shoot for their first division victory of the season on Sunday, when they host the AFC South-rival Tennessee Titans at ALLTEL Stadium. Jacksonville is 0-2 in the division, and resides in second place behind the undefeated Indianapolis Colts. Tennessee, meanwhile, is 1-1 in the AFC South and tied for last in the standings with Houston. The Jaguars registered a huge 13-6 win in Philadelphia on Sunday, minus starting quarterback Byron Leftwich and a few defensive stars at a
Leftwich won't start against Titans NFL Football 11/02/2006
Jacksonville, FL (MySportsbook) - Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Byron Leftwich was told before Thursday's practice that for the second straight week he would not be the starter. Leftwich, who sprained his left ankle against Washington on October 1 but played through the injury, was the third quarterback but did not dress in the team's 13-6 win versus Philadelphia last Sunday. He was downgraded from probable to questionable on the team's injury report on Thursday. David Garrard completed 10-of-17 passes for 87

id gave Patterson the confidence to sign a long-term deal with the team.

``Everybody that's been here for a long time that I've talked to, they've been happy,'' Patterson said.

Patterson broke his left hand in last week's dismal 13-6 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars and underwent surgery earlier this week, but doesn't expect to miss any time.

The Eagles are off this week and return from the bye to host the Washington Redskins on Nov. 12.
