Mike Bell submitted that he didn't stick to the game plan against the Steelers a week after he ran all over the Indianapolis Colts for 136 yards and two touchdowns. ``I was getting so frustrated, I probably started deviating from the system, from the game plan, and that's a mental mistake, a rookie mistake and it's definitely a learning experience,'' he said. ``So, I'm just g |

Vanderjagt's self-imposed silence started when the Indianapolis Colts, his former team, were the next game on the schedule. He didn't talk after Sunday's game in Arizona, and hasn't been in the locker room during open periods this week. When training camp started in July, Vanderjagt knew the exact date of the game a |

IRVING, Texas (AP) -Peyton Manning has a chance Sunday to do something he's never done in his career. Make the Indianapolis Colts 10-0? Yes, but that wouldn't be anything new. They were 13-0 last season. Beat a team coached by Bill Parcells? Not a first, either. Manning's second career win was against the Parcells-coached Jets in 1998. He beat the Jets twice the next year and Parcells has avoided facing him ever since. How about beating the Dallas Cowboys? Well, Manning has done that twice. But it's on t |

But he said Jerome Collins, a defensive lineman who switched to tight end as a senior in 2004 and had six catches for 67 yards, gives him hope. Collins, a backup with the Irish, is now with the Indianapolis Colts. ``He's definitely given me inspiration just talking to him, seeing how it's going for him,'' he said. The excitement of the opportunity to start Saturday is heightened because it will be Freeman's last game at Notre Dame Stadium. ``It's going |

Parcells calls replacing Ellis ``a big piece of the puzzle'' in preparing for the undefeated Indianapolis Colts (9-0), who visit the Cowboys (5-4) this weekend. There are options beside Carpenter. Al Singleton has been primarily a special teams player, but started seven games last year before a season-ending injury, and nickel linebacker Kevin Burnett could |

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -The Indianapolis Colts have their own way of doing things. Frills are out, trash-talking is disdained and the self-adulation that permeates other parts of the NFL world is a foreign commodity around the team. If it seems more small-town America than Hollywood glitter, that's fine with the unbeaten Colts. ``I think we look at ourselves as a small-town, Midwestern team that doesn't have the personality some other teams have,'' coach Tony Dungy said. ``We don't talk a lot, but I like that.' |

The loss dropped the Jaguars to 5-4 on the season and it all but eliminated them from the AFC South division race. The 9-0 Indianapolis Colts lead the division, and now hold a four-game lead with seven games to play. More importantly, the setbacks to Houston have placed a great deal of unnecessary pressure on Jack Del Rio's team. Those are two games that are simply counted as 'Ws" when th |

UP NEXT Houston returns home after a three-game road trip and will host Buffalo, which is 3-6 on the season. The Bills are coming off a 17-16 loss to the Indianapolis Colts and have dropped three of their last four games overall. The Bills lead the all-time series at 2-1 and defeated the Texans, 22-7, last season in Buffalo. |
