Colts keep training camp in Anderson NFL Football 08/16/2011
Anderson, IN (MySportsbook) - The Indianapolis Colts will keep their training camp at Anderson University, announcing a five-year agreement with the school through the summer of 2016. Anderson was the summer home of the Colts when they first moved to Indiana in 1984. They remained there through 1998, then returned to the school in 2010. "With this extension, the university has agreed to continue to upgrade its facilities so we can prepare for the rigorous NFL season," said Colts general manager Chris Polian. "
Rams to unveil new offense in preseason opener NFL Football 08/11/2011

ST. LOUIS (AP) - The St. Louis Rams promise a more unpredictable offense under new coordinator Josh McDaniels. The first glimpse comes Saturday night in the preseason opener against the Indianapolis Colts.

Running back Steven Jackson noted all teams are playing catch-up after the lockout, but felt good about the team's progress in the new system. Jackson often had to slog for yards in last year's conservative attack that eased quarterback Sam Bradford into the NFL, but there's anticipation he'll be more of a

Colts sign G Beekman, WR Williams NFL Football 08/11/2011
Anderson, IN (MySportsbook) - The Indianapolis Colts signed guard Josh Beekman and wide receiver Marshall Williams on Thursday. Beekman was a fourth-round selection by Chicago in the 2007 draft and appeared in 28 games -- 20 starts -- for the Bears from 2007-09. He spent last season playing for the Florida Tuskers of the UFL. Williams was signed by the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent on July 28, but was later released. He caught 110 passes for 1,529 yards and 10 touchdowns during his career at Wake F
Ohio St, Michigan no favorites in new Big Ten Division I College Football 08/05/2011

CHICAGO (AP) - The first Big Ten football championship game will be played in December at the home of the Indianapolis Colts.

If neither Ohio State nor Michigan is playing at Lucas Oil Stadium that day, no one will be particularly surprised. The teams that have combined to win 77 Big Ten titles aren't even favored to win their divisions.

Things really have changed in the Big Ten, haven't they?

In Columbus, Ohio, the Buckeyes are coming off a sixth straight season in which they at least tied for first in

Kickoff Kicked Out? Division I College Football 08/05/2011
Super XXXI MVP honors on the strength of a 99-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. The Chicago Bears' Devin Hester provided the most exciting beginning to any Super Bowl in history when he brought the opening kickoff back for a touchdown against the Indianapolis Colts . To be fair, no one is pushing for kickoffs to be eliminated from the pro game, but it is important to emphasize the play's importance to the sport as a whole. That importance isn't lost on LeGrand, who respectfully opposes Schiano's stance. "Kicko

ve everything worked out in time to start HGH testing by Week 1 of the regular season, but that is not guaranteed.

``Everyone in this game has championed making sure drugs aren't involved in our game. So we are finding our way through this,'' said Indianapolis Colts center Jeff Saturday, who was one of the players' key negotiators in recent months. ``It hasn't been easy, just understanding all the ins and outs of it.''

Most of the deal to end the NFL's first work stoppage since 1987 was agreed to last month,

Colts sign former Bears DT Harris NFL Football 08/04/2011
Anderson, IN (MySportsbook) - The Indianapolis Colts officially announced Thursday that they signed former Chicago Bears defensive tackle Tommie Harris. Harris, 28, played his first seven NFL seasons with the Bears, compiling 28 1/2 sacks and 213 tackles after they picked him No. 14 overall in the first round of the 2004 draft. Terms of his contract were not released. Harris made three Pro Bowls with the Bears, who terminated his contract in February before the lockout began after he started in just six of the
Done deal: NFL players ratify 10-year CBA NFL Football 08/04/2011
"probably in the best interest of all of the teams to try to push practice back as much as they can in hopes of getting those players to practice." "We wanted to practice at night down here at least once," said Garrett, "so it kind of fit together." Indianapolis Colts head coach Jim Caldwell said the delay between training camp opening and the CBA being ratified worked out well for some of the team's younger players because they had a better opportunity to get more reps in during practice. "Now obviously that's g
Colts ink top pick Castonzo, former first-rounders Sims, Anderson NFL Football 08/02/2011
Anderson, IN (MySportsbook) - The Indianapolis Colts signed their 2011 first-round draft pick, offensive lineman Anthony Castonzo, as well as former first-round picks in linebacker Ernie Sims and defensive end Jamaal Anderson on Tuesday. Castonzo, the 22nd overall pick in April, set a record for career starts at Boston College with 54 and was part of an offensive line last season that had the 16th-ranked rushing attack in the nation. "Thanks to the Colts organization we were able to get this done," said Caston
Eskimos add Howard to D-line CFL 08/01/2011
Edmonton, AB (MySportsbook) - The Edmonton Eskimos signed defensive lineman Marcus Howard on Monday. Howard was a fifth-round pick of the Indianapolis Colts in 2008. His only NFL action came in his rookie season when he appeared in nine games and totaled 14 tackles and 1 1/2 sacks. The University of Georgia product was on the Tennessee Titans' practice squad last year, but did not play a snap.
