| Seattle, WA (MySportsbook) - The Seattle SuperSonics hope to end a two-game skid when they welcome the playoff-bound Portland Trail Blazers to KeyArena tonight. Portland has won five of its last seven games, most recently a 94-80 victory over the Indiana Pacers. Rasheed Wallace finished with 23 points and 14 rebounds, while Dale Davis added 17 points and 10 rebounds. Derek Anderson added 18 points to the win. "This was a game of desperate measures for us," Scottie Pippen said. "I thought we played all aspects of the game very hard." The Trail Blazers are currently the fourth seed in the Western Conference, 3 1/2 games behind the third-seeded San Antonio Spurs and mere percentage points ahead of the fifth-seeded Minnesota Timberwolves. Portland is 19-12 on the road and 21-15 within the Western Conference. Seattle's latest slide comes on the heels of a five-game winning streak. The Sonics are coming off a 108-99 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers. Ray Allen scored 24 points, grabbed seven rebounds and handed out seven assists in the losing effort. Vladimir Radmanovic chipped in with 20 points. Philly's Allen Iverson doomed the Sonics with a 40-point effort. "Tonight [Iverson] was pretty consistent throughout the game knocking down shots," said Sonics coach Nate McMillan. "Every time we tried to make a run it seemed like he came up with a big basket. When he has that going, there is nothing you can do except hope that he misses some shots." The Sonics are 16-13 at home and have a 15-18 mark within the Western Conference. Portland has won all three meetings between the teams this season. |
