IRVING, Texas (AP) -Houston Texans defensive tackle Seth Payne injured his knee in Sunday's 34-6 loss to the Dallas Cowboys and is likely out for the season. Coach Gary Kubiak said Payne tore a ligament in his right knee. ``It looks like we lost Seth for the season,'' Kubiak said. Payne got hurt early in the fourth quarter. He was one of three Texans starters who left the game with injury. Safety Glenn Earl left with a strained neck. He got hurt a few plays after Payne on the same drive. Offensiv |

IRVING, Texas (AP) -Defensive tackle Seth Payne, safety Glenn Earl and offensive tackle Zach Wiegert - all starters for the Houston Texans - left Sunday's game at Dallas because of injury. Payne sprained his right knee on a play early in the fourth quarter. A few plays later on the same drive, Earl strained his neck. Payne had to be helped off the field, but Earl walked off on his own power. Wiegert left the game with a sprained left knee. Payne was limited to two games in 2003 because of a left knee |

| (MySportsbook) - Stakeholders within the Dallas Cowboys organization probably don't spend much time envying their beleaguered Lone Star State counterparts, the Houston Texans, who will visit Texas Stadium on Sunday. But given the recent drama surrounding Terrell Owens, the on-and-off quarterback controversy involving Drew Bledsoe, and the inconsistent play of a team that perpetually seems to be on the threshold of taking the next step in the NFL hierarchy, the question is one worth asking: would you rather |

IRVING, Texas (AP) -The last time the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans squared off, it was quite a shindig. The Texans made their NFL debut that night in a game Houstonians had anticipated for years, ever since the Oilers packed up and left. The game received a marquee spot on the NFL schedule and commissioner Paul Tagliabue showed up, even proclaiming it the ``Texas Super Bowl'' before kickoff. And it turned out to be a game that neither club can forget. For the Texans, getting off to a 1-0 start a |

| (MySportsbook) - Thanks again, Houston Texans. The New Orleans Saints and their long-suffering fan base, which had been ailing well before Hurricane Katrina left its indelible imprint on the city, couldn't contain their glee when the Texans passed on Reggie Bush with the No. 1 overall pick six months ago. And on Sunday, the superstar rookie provided another reason for such jubilation. It took Bush five games to score his first NFL touchdown, but it couldn't have come at a more opportune time. UP NEXT: HOPING FOR NO PROBLEMS IN HOUSTON The Cowboys will try to heal their wounds on Sunday against the 1-3 Houston Texans at Texas Stadium. Dallas should have a better time running its offense against the Texans than it did in Philadelphia, though Houston has history on its side, winning the only matchup on September 8, 2002 by a 19-10 score in the first game in franch |

| (MySportsbook) - Lito Sheppard was ready for Sunday's showdown against the Dallas Cowboys, and wasn't about to let an ankle problem keep him off the field. The Eagles' starting cornerback went down with the injury in Week 1 against the Houston Texans and had missed the next three games. It had become a major concern as to when Sheppard would return, but a visit by Terrell Owens apparently provided him more than enough incentive. Sheppard and others, including fellow corner Sheldon Brown, were responsible f |

| We need to build on that.'' That is the challenge facing the Titans in their trip to Washington (2-3) on Sunday for their fourth road game in the first six weeks. Then comes their bye - and perhaps their best chance at victory this season when the Houston Texans (1-3) pay a visit. If not, then the Titans could match the dubious mark of 11 straight losses by the then-Houston Oilers in 1994. That team won its season finale and finished 2-14. This group now has five more games before matching the 0-10 start |

| (MySportsbook) - The New England Patriots signed wide receiver Jabar Gaffney on Monday. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. Gaffney, a 2002 University of Florida graduate and fifth-year pro, spent his first four seasons with the Houston Texans. He was signed by Philadelphia in March, but was released before the start of the regular season. The 25-year old has caught 171 passes for 2,009 yards and seven touchdowns, and was second on the Texans with a career-high 55 catches for 492 yards an |

The New England Patriots signed former Houston Texans wide receiver Jabar Gaffney on Monday to shore up their thin group at that position. The Patriots also released defensive tackle Johnathan Sullivan and cornerback Hank Poteat. After five games, New England's wide receivers have just 41 catches. The team lost its top two players at that spot when Deion Branch was traded to Seattle after the first game of the season following a lengthy holdout, and David Givens signed as a free agent with Tennessee.
